Summary
Detectives in the sleepy town of Whitebranch realize they're dealing with a serial killer when a dead girl is found with a game piece on her body, suspiciously similar to an unsolved murder six months prior. What initially seems like a fluke or copycat soon starts to spiral out of control. With no real leads and a rising body count, one detective makes a fatal mistake when trying to draw the killer out of hiding...instead, directing the murderer's focus onto them and the people they love.
Quiet, Pretty Things invites you see through the eyes of two senior detectives, their trainee, the county medical examiner, and the serial killer they are trying so desperately to apprehend.

Amazing story and perfect narration!
I mean, this book was amazing!
Starting from the fact that one of the main characters is a serial killer which is always a bonus for me!
The story is very entartaining, keeping the reader wanting to keep going. This is also cleverly done through the use of different point of views that helps the reader having a clear timeline and putting the pieces together without seeming forced.
I particularly liked the complexity of the characters with their faults and emotions which is not usual, as we generally see only one angle of the actors in serial killers stories. These are people which are very relatable and beautifully portrayed by the author.
There are several twists along the way which I didn't expect given we have all point of views along the story. And the ending is truly jaw dropping, so satisfying and frustrating at the same time which shows how good Megan Stockton is! Comparable to a Shakespearian tragedy really!
I listened to the audiobook version and it was really good, and a truly immersive experience at times!
The author was so kind to give me the audiobook code and this is my honest review.

killer
Loved the narration of David Hull, who brings out the angst, suspense, action. You can feel the characters pain and frustrations, perfect.
Our main character is a serial cop killer.
There are several twists along the way which I didn't expect. And the ending is truly jaw dropping, so satisfying. A small town, with a line of murders, and full blown mystery.
We see the story from the view of the psychopath, You’ll empathize for the victims and cheer for the cops who seem horribly outmatched as the deaths come fast and furious.
