About this listen
Dalton Andrews has seen it all. After spending a little over 10 years with the Denver PD, he’d had enough and joined Wildlife Services, not expecting it to be such an isolating career. When his job takes him on assignment to Crooked Bend, he jumps at the chance to work with actual people again when the town’s sheriff needs to hire a few more deputies. While at his new boss’ wedding reception, he unexpectedly meets a blue-eyed architect that makes his brain go fuzzy.
Collin McKenzie has trust issues. After countless bad experiences, culminating in spending over a year hidden in the closet by his ex, he decided enough was enough. He not only broke up with him but he moved to a different state to start fresh. He loves working for the Welsh brothers and living in Wyoming puts him closer to his family. He’s sworn off men, but while attending a wedding, he sees a dark-haired man that makes him catch his breath.
After spending an unforgettable night together, Collin mistakenly lumps Dalton in with his past experiences. Things are awkward between them, but the attraction is there and undeniable, so they agree to give it a try. But when Collin’s ex finds him in Wyoming and won’t take no for an answer, Dalton steps up and claims what he wants - Collin. But will he be able to protect the man he’s quickly falling hard for? And will Collin ever trust him enough to let him in?
Protecting My Commitment is the first book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin-off, but it isn’t a requirement that you listen to that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be seen, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book focus’ on a different couple and may be listened to as a stand-alone, you will receive maximum enjoyment listening to them in order. Each book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18 years of age.

as great as the ebook
The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Michael Pauley is one of the 8 narrators (so far), I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

A Sweet Romance
Protecting My Commitment is the first book in the Sulfur Springs series. This series seems to be a spin-off from the Men of Crooked Bend series, which I haven’t read, and although I can definitely tell that some of the characters have more history than is depicted in this book, I never felt confused or lost during the story.
Protecting my Commitment was just an average romance. The characters had some immature relationship issues which seemed a little flimsy to make such a huge plot point, especially in the beginning. I did like the drama with the stalker—it was over the top, but I enjoyed the drama and the protective streak that came out. This is one of those books that hits on different tropes and gives the reader a huge dose of fluff and sass which I found satisfying. I liked this book and it was easy to read and had me interested in the next book in the series.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Dean who did a fantastic job like always. Michael voiced all the characters wonderfully and gave us a perfect performance. The audiobook production was nicely done and overall I liked the audiobook.

Dalton and Collin 💚💙
The start of a new series is always exciting with big expectations. Dalton the Sheriff’s deputy spends a night with Collin at a wedding. Their chemistry is hot but will they build a relationship? While they are at it, a crazy ex decides to make a comeback and Collins family comes back to the rescue. I loved the family dynamics and how well Dalton fits. Awesome narrator too.

Collin and Dalton
In this first book of the new spinoff series we meet up with Dalton, the sexy man who works at the Sheriff department and Collin the architect. They hook up at Jacob and Isacs wedding very much attracted to each other. But the road to happiness is far from easy until Collins ex starts stalking him. Soon it gets very serious with the threads and Collins whole family swoops in on the hunt for the one man that is a danger to both of them. But it also brings them together and to realise that they want to have a future together. In their fight against the ex who hired a gun man to get rid of Collin, Dalton almost looses his life. It is a great story and narrated very well by Michael Pauly. After book 1 you just want to dive in the next one.

Great book.
This is my first time reading/listening to a Taylor Rylan book, but won't be my last.
Small town Deputy Sheriff Dalton and an Architect Colin have issues not just with each other but with themselves.
This book has a few twists to it, and some sad moments, but I have to say I had jaw ache from smiling so much when I finished reading this book. Can't wait to read book two in this series.

Okay story
The story is okay but the storyline is slow going. It’s a sweet story and I really like the main characters as well as the the other characters of the book. Really the only minus is the slow storyline but unfortunately it makes it a bit boring.
As always Michael Dean does a great job narrating the story!
