Summary

Tira's dinosaurs now have foes that can match their might.

The Amedian's betrayal has rocked the world, and the revelation of their ultimate weapon nearly spelled Tira's doom. As the last surviving dungeon in the kingdom, Tira now finds herself overrun by adventurers and soldiers looking to increase their strength for the coming war.

She barely has time to deal with that, however.

The dead dungeons have left entities that will break containment at any moment, Tira has to contend with a newborn core that is trying to hold in Refinael, and Tira is the only being with bigger concerns than Amedian dragons. And still, in her depths, the now-active Summoning Gate stirs, and the horror it unleashed runs through the Lowerlands.

Some problems are too large even for dinosaurs.

Taking this dugeon core story to another level

If you liked the first audiobook, you will definitely enjoy Pride. The story develops to a much deeper level and reallybsets it up for the third. The addition of a third voice actor, really helps to keep it clear what is happening and Justin is a really high quality addition, adding lots of range and character to the voices.

A strong sequal

Man, I loved this book. I even consider it better than the first book.

Superb listen!

I first listened to Pride when it was released. and loved it. it stood alone without issue. I wasn't left confused not having read Wrath, returning to this now that I have however... It stands just as strong!

The story continues in interesting ways, expanding on hints dropped in Wrath. Alex Raizman does a great job mixing multiple action scenes and viewpoints that happen in tandem, bouncing between two or three fight scenes in a way that keeps them separate and understandable.

Annie is a delight to listen to narrating, giving heart to a sapient dungeon core. Jeff returning as Zeke just makes me happy, I can never hear enough of that voice with his personality. Justin joins the pair in this giving his range of voices to new characters.

If you listened to wrath this will not disappoint, and if you haven't. Well... you should go listen to it, but this works as a great stand alone.
