Summary
They found the town silent, apparently abandoned. Then they found the first body strangely swollen and still warm. One hundred fifty were dead, 350 missing. But the terror had only begun in the tiny mountain town of Snowfield, California.
...and closer...
At first, they thought it was the work of a maniac. Or terrorists. Or toxic contamination. Or a bizarre new disease.
...and closer...
But then they found the truth. And they saw it in the flesh. And it was worse than anything any of them had ever imagined.

Very Good, worth listening to.
I love the Ben Afleck movie and I have to say that the novel is as entertaining. The narrator is good, but not excellent. A spooky story like this would have benefited from a more dramatic delivery. I would recommend this audiobook though.

Excellent story. Tremendous reader.
Loved the story. Genuinely creepy and took turns I didn’t anticipate. The reader was great too. One of Koontz’ best.

Interesting basic idea
The basic premise is interesting but I think the author gets in his own way telling the story as some unnecessary details are explained. Further we don’t really get to know the main characters which means we have no incentive to really care for and relate to them. Please note that I’m a constant reader of Stephen King - a master of character development, so my bar hereof is high.

brilliant horror.. much like The Blob
performance was perfect for the genre.. similar to a reading of the twilight zone. the story focuses on a town in us that suffers from mysterious and inexplicable deaths from a variety of causes.. some natural some horrific.. a remake of The Blob but with no cheese at all. excellent dean koontz horror

Kept You on your toes.
Beginning to love the authors books as much as I do Stephen King and James Herbert. This story certainly kept me wanting to keep on listening. Great narration too.
Thank you so much.
I loved it. 😀

Ancient Enemy
I think the Novel was brilliant from Beginning to end, Dean Koontz is a brilliant Author like Stephen King and Brian Lumley, they keep you rooted to the Novel.
