Summary

Pax was only a kit when his family was killed and he was rescued by ‘his boy’, Peter. Now the country is at war and when his father enlists, Peter has no choice but to move in with his grandfather. a charming and exciting tale
Excellent and exciting narration, an emotionally charged and skilfully written story. Penny packer creates some vivid and very human characters.

What an excellent story
This is truly a WEE gem of a tale. Motherlessness, fatherlessness, war, love, nature, all the great elements required, and written so compassionately, a wonderful tale.

The man reading the book makes it too boring to even listen to the story itself seems okay, but it’s just so depressing and listening to his voice
