Penda, a warrior of immense renown, has much to prove if he is to rule the Mercian kingdom of his dead father and prevent the neighboring king of Northumbria from claiming it.

Confusing and hard to get into

A long sprawling conversational book with characters that all sound very similar which makes it hard to get into, no doubt well researched but very slow and difficult to follow I have up half way through
