A Knickers Moment.
I always suspected that Tom Jones would be the real deal, a true global 'Celebrity' who told us what we all suspect, that, becoming a star, is, if the talent is there in the 1st place, is a heady mix of : Determination, chance, being in the right place at the right time and having that one 'Fuel in the tank' moment that propels you to greatness within your craft!
His was most certainly having a 'Knickers hurled at you in a New York club' moment. An unplanned, serendipitous PR coup, which gave him the opportunity to win people over with his stage craft and wonderful singing voice. Maybe the many, many wannabe 'Celebrities' who, in these days, litter the TV looking to be are worshipped, should stop for a moment and pray to the god of serendipity for a 'Knickers' moment.
Your a true talent Tom! But I won't wish you good luck, you already had that!

A Great book that knows how to use the word F#*k
Powerfully read with humour and feeling..
plenty of belly laughs from his travels.
Great listen
He really has been there and got the T shirt..
a trip through his life and all the fun times he has been a part of..
Follow this Talented bloke thru the hard times and then the fun times with a touch of Extraordinary LUCK,
If you like home grown Talent THIS will make you happy in ways you will not yet believe.

The man who made it and is still making it!
The story of a legend that made it. In some instances he seemed to be in the right place at the right time but has worked extremely hard to be the man he is now and continues to work just as hard.
I was hooked from start to finish and Jonathan Pryce's reading was as if you were listening to the man himself.
So many laugh out loud moments and interesting stories and heart felt moments!
Finished the audio book in 2 days as I just couldn't stop listening.

A great listen!
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. What is refreshing is Sir Tom has the humility to remember his humble roots. This book really came alive through the narration of Jonathan Pryce a truly great actor!

What a true and wonderful listen
What an honest and true account from a person telling his own story.
Highly recommend, watch out for the ending you’ll need a tissue (in a good way)

Singing success, from the Welsh valleys to LA - lasting six decades
Superb insight into Tom Jones's life and his amazing singing career. Many myths of the 'raunchy' guy, laid to rest! I loved the fact that his family were so important to him and this close relationship kept him grounded and doggedly determined through the bleak times. The welsh voice of the reader gave it a more authentic feel. An excellent story.

Worth a listen
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I learned a lot about Tom, who was to the public getting a bit "tired" but this book brought focus to his life and career.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Over the Top and Back?
Clarity on the sacrifices made, as you only ever hear about all the good things from celebrities and not the effort they have made.

Very well read by Jonathan Pryce - almost imagined it was Tom himself. Fabulous.

What a life
What an amazing story Sir Tom has told us. I loved it! It is one of the best autobiographies I have read/listened. I laughed and cried and enjoyed every single minute.
