Summary
Arthur MacDonald, 85, is having an end-of-life crisis. His beloved, dying wife of over 60 years no longer knows who he is. His older brother still has all his hair and a wife almost half his age. The man his middle-aged daughter is dating has a ponytail.
His teenaged grandson wants to cook desserts for a living. And his daughter wants him to move into Silvermine retirement home. Then Arthur meets the gorgeous, radical, 80-something-year-old Robbie and learns that nobody is ever too old to fall in love all over again.

Loved it
Honest with so many truisms. Gentle and funny and kind. Loved the characters and their joy in life. Poignant. Will recommend to friends.

Precious and beautiful
Warning, do not listen if recently bereaved or going through a difficult time as there are some parts you may find too raw.
This book is not what I was expecting, but I loved every minute and listened in one sitting.
I cried and laughed and now it’s over I feel bereft of all the characters.

Wonderful story
Oh my goodness. How I enjoyed this read & loved the characters. A bit of an education & great narration. Loved the ending too.

Truly enjoyable !
I really enjoyed Jason Chong’s interpretation of this story that takes a surprising twist. It’s the first time that l listened to a story on getting older. Good balance between depth and humour !

Brilliant read, unexpected topics, greatly enjoyed!
After reading the blurb, I thought it sounded like an enjoyable, easy listen. I wasn't expecting it to be so sharp, clever and witty, or for it to cover some heavy topics in a thoughtful and respectful way. A smart, well written book. Don't judge a book by it's title and blurb!

Lovely story
I really enjoyed the story and narration.
The characters were extremely warm and the description was very vivid.
At some point, towards the end, I was confused as it moved from story to story.

Wonderful story
On initially reading the blog I thought this book sounded a bit depressing, but it intrigued me and I’m so glad I gave in and chose to listen to it. It’s a wonderful story of love and relationships and resilience and for being able to take control of life and live it in your own terms. Would recommend.
