Summary

They say it isn't about how many times you get knocked down....

Barely surviving his struggle with Arhtu the Cursed, Thorn is determined to turn his successive defeats into overwhelming victory. But first he has to fight through Devilish plots, an Orc siege, and an ancient threat capable of wiping his team out without any effort.

The stakes have grown, and if Thorn is going to lead his friends through the danger of the looming Orc threat he will need every advantage he can scrape together. Yet even as he forges a path forward, shadows begin to stir.

If the back bone story line wasn't so good .

I would have stopped at book 3 if the backbone of the story wasn't so good. Feels like the story gets bogged down on the fight scenes some times. luckily I am intrigued enough to want to hear where the story will go. However I have been able to predict 70 percent of what will happen so far. the other 30 percent is excellent.

Another Great addition

I'm burning my way through this book series and it's such a great ride. the world building is good and a nice steady power increase from the side characters.

squeezed a full 5star story just

Ok so the beginning of the series was typical and tried and tested formula. As the story following Thorne has progressed the real world character has been less and less prominent until now.
without trying to stuff spoilers in this there are two ways this story is going to turn one i can deal with the other will annoy the hell out of me.
my main bug bear with this installment, is the three chapter long battle at the start.
there are books 7,8,9 and 10 so no spoilers here....
you either view the battle as erm thats a bit much this early on as i did or well it started with a bang.
The world building around Throne and the rest of the team is well done and draws you in, as does the excellent continuing narrator.

My poor bank account! SETH!

How dare you write this brilliant and addictive series narrated by such an amazing orator. Shocking behaviour.
