Summary
Jesse Hernandez has infiltrated my life.
The gorgeous, exciting man who hangs out next door.
Who happens to be younger than me.
And in college.
And heading to medical school in just a few short months.
It started innocently enough.
The occasional run-in.
A few chance encounters.
An offer to babysit.
An offer for…more.
But then, it snowballed.
Now, I only know two things for certain.
One, for the first time in my entire life, I’m not an afterthought.
And two, this will end very, very badly.
My kids. My job. His future.
It’s all at risk.
Jesse Hernandez has infiltrated my life, and if I’m not careful, we will all be in tatters when he leaves.

Can't wait to listen to the previous books❤️🔥

Seriously after a dedication like that how can you not feel that this is going to be an amazing book?🥹
This book focuses on 28-year-old divorcee Jocelyn Calligaris with June (8) and Jude (4), and 23-year-old pre-med student Jesse Hernandez.
The meeting between them is one of the funniest and cuties there is, Jude known as "Captain Meatball" made an entry into Jesse's life, that he couldn't get out of his head and his path continues to merge with Jocelyn's so he stops fighting it and decides giving a chance to this summer fling 💞
When I tell you that I smiled non-stop and bit my lip like some high school girl in love every time Jesse called Jocelyn "classic" I really mean it🥰
Jocelyn's kids are just so sweet and funny, Jesse's friends are amazing, Their friendship made me jealous and wanted to be in this group 🫶🏻
Jocelyn's ex... I couldn't stop cursing him🤬
“𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐨𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 𝐚 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭?“
Every woman needs and deserves a man like Jesse🥹❤️🩹
He already bought me by the way he behaved with Jocelyn's children, the way he pushed her to fulfill her list, the amazing nicknames he finds for every person who enters his life...
His character is really what you call a "book-boyfriend material"❤️
And Jocelyn is such a stunning character, she is a mama bear who focuses on her search for her happiness, for her own self, and this journey was beautiful🥹
Such a special, charming, fun, unique, romantic book, the kind that leaves you wanting more.
The narrators did such an amazing job, They did a great job with the emotions of the scenes - it was exactly as I imagined and even more!
Brit Benson, girly I've got my eye on you! I'll definitely be back for more🫶🏻
You left a mark on my heart sign by your name❤️

Fantastic Story & Listen🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt!
“Nothing Feels Better” is a fantastic, single parent, opposites attract romance novel, it is my first book written by Brit Benson and I enjoyed her writing style and the storylines she created, they are interesting and original. Her characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they were easy to care about and root for too. Jesse Hernandez always had a thing for older women, so when he sees his friend’s new neighbor he feels an instant attraction to her. Jocelyn left a toxic marriage with her two kids, June and Jude, she working on her degree to become a nurse while juggling parenting, work and studying, and she still has to deal with her abusive ex because they share custody. She was not looking to get involved with anyone, never mind a guy five years younger, but Jesse swooned his way into her life, and he was amazing with her kids, too. I adored these characters and loved watching them get to know each other and how it all played out for them. Joss always thought of others before her own wants and needs, for her kids and then for Jesse, but in the end it all fell into place beautifully. This wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, witty dialogue and humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. The author does a great job keeping things real while covering real-life issues, domestic violence, both mental and physical abuse. Brit Benson, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Noah B. Perez and Kelli Tager did an amazing job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who they were portraying, giving each a voice that suited that character’s persona perfectly and were believable in every role they played, including the children’s roles which they nailed. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.

Loved this!
Brit Benson has quickly become an instant author for me. Not only is her writing style unique, easy to follow but her characters come with real issues, real traumas and they are a dream to connect with. I adore that she always makes me root for her characters (Even RIGGS!)
Not only does Brit weave a phenomenal story, but she also comes with resources to hopefully help a reader/someone the reader knows who may be experiencing the issues/traumas that they are reading about. To me, that’s an author, that’s a person, that’s an ally, and that’s a friend that cares.
I am always all in on a single parent, opposites attract – age gap and boy did this stunning woman deliver on that!
Joss, Narrated by (a new fave, thanks Brit!) Kelli Tager – Man if this woman wasn’t so easy to fall for. I could see everything that Jesse loved about her and more. Strength, resilience and power just pour from her. She has her faults of course but what she gives to her children, to Jesse and herself – WOW. In complete awe of such an amazingly strong woman. Kelli – Gives us such a wide range of emotion when it comes to Joss – I thought she stole my heart in Better with You – Kelli nailed this one.
Jesse, narrated by Noah B. Perez (who’s new to me completely) was the perfect casting. I have been in so much instalust with Jesse from the start of this series, He’s easily one of my favorite side characters written to date, and I am beyond thrilled we finally get to see his story unfold. He’s brilliant, dynamic and just the best friend that everyone needs. Noah portrayed the soft, easy-going characteristics that we’ve grown to love Jesse for over the years, and I am sold.
J SQUARED! Man, I usually do not like kids having such a strong presence in books because they are usually either done lazily OR they dictate the relationship flow. Brit did not allow this to happen, she wrote the most adorable, amazing, witty and strong babies. I Can’t tell you how many times I wanted to just pick them up and hold them.
Brit added another book to my forever in love list, Characters that will stick with me forever and the knowledge to help others who are in need of support.

A beautifully written single parent romance
Nothing Feels Better is book three in the Better Love series and is the opposites attract, age gap, single parent, summer fling romance of Jesse and Jocelyn.
Jesse Hernandez made an incredible secondary character in the previous book so when it was his time to shine front and centre, he did not disappoint and is the perfect book boyfriend. The way he puts wildflower Joss on a pedestal, worships at her feet and champions her and encourages her at every turn is simply breath taking. And the way he dotes on her kids June and Jude was beautiful, he had an uncanny ability of seeing beneath the surface and giving J squared what they needed and didn’t ever get from their father, fun, laughter, peace, and safety.
Jocelyn is a single mum to two incredible kids who are the only good things to have come from her marriage to a monster. After years of abuse, aside from coparenting, Joss is free from her ex-husband. She has moved into a new house and is working towards a new career in nursing when a new complication is thrown into the mix in the form of Jesse Hernandez, a younger guy who visits the house next door and a sweet but feisty old lady on the nursing home where Joss works and who steps up for her and her kids time and time again.
Let’s not forget the two little J’s in this book that steal several scenes and the emotion they evoke not only in Jesse and Joss but also in the listener are just the icing on the cake, June and Jesse’s relationship is beautiful, what he and his friends do for her confidence is incredible and Jesse and his gorgeous relationship with Captain Meatball Jude, his emotional support pirate is stunning!
My heart broke for Joss, the abuse she endures is all to familiar to me, I sobbed for her and her children and the gorgeous man who will stop at nothing to show her she deserves to be worshipped, loved, and respected.
Narrated by new to me narrator Noah B. Perez and Kelli Tager and what a powerhouse duo they are. Noah’s performance as the Doctor in training knitting enthusiast is magnificent. Noah brought the protective alpha while also being soft, gentle, and understanding. Kelli’s portrayal of single mum Jocelyn was out of this world. Kelli conveyed Jocelyn’s need to protect herself and her children, her drive to better herself so she isn’t reliant on her ex and the desires brought on by the hot guy who bulldozes his way into her life impeccably.
I have loved every book in this series but this one spoke to me on a deeper level. This book was like a trip down memory lane and a therapy session all rolled into one. Brit Benson tackled some hard subjects, and she handled them with the utmost care, sensitivity, and respect and for that I thank you. Thank you for highlighting that mental and emotional abuse leaves just as many scars as physical abuse.
I loved this book; it is one that will stay with me forever and will take a lot of beating for my book of the year!

So Good!!!
Nothing Feels Better by Brit Benson was my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. Jesse and Jocelyn’s journey was beautifully written with heartfelt emotions and an intriguing storyline. Jesse is one of the ultimate book boyfriends! He is loyal, hard working college student on his way to Med school, knits hats for charity, and was just a delightful and swoon worthy hero that had me smiling throughout. I adored his relationship with Jude and June and how he always noticed what was going on with them. He was so patient and I loved how he pushed Jocelyn to explore she wanted and ultimately he knew he was meant to love Joss and the kids. Jocelyn was a determined heroine finding herself after a nasty divorce. Her ex is still making life difficult but she is set on finding herself and the things she enjoys outside of being “just a mom or (ex)wife”. She was a fierce super mom and I really enjoyed her character.
Narrators - Noah B Perez and Kelly Trager were both new to me and they did an amazing job with these characters. Their voices meshed well together and look forward to more enjoyable listens with them.

Enjoyed hearing this in audio.
I really liked Jesse and Jocelyn's story when I first read it, and whilst I'm not a big audio lover, I do tend to still like listening to Brit Benson's audios. This was no different and I think the narrators did a good job. :)
