A tragic tale!
A history that definitely needed writing! And one, all too relevant in 2024! This made me sad and ashamed of my country! Much respect to the Polish!

Wow.
When will the history books be rewritten to include Poland as ‘The’ major fighting force throughout WW2 ? Nothing phased them, and then they were betrayed and occupied. This book is an eye opener. I’ve found a new respect for Poland and its armed forces.

Good to hear the story written by non Polish
Great 2ww history about straggling Polish people. one thing tho, why there is mention of gen. Sikorski's mysterious death?

Author made no great effort to research properly.
It reads more like an adventure story than a grown up history so it will sell well. The narration is quite melodramatic but reflects the style of writing well. he enunciates clearly and is easy to follow. A good pace.
Poland needs proper and full recognition for its place in WW2. it needs proper well written historical works which tell that history. This book does not do that.
it contains historical inaccuracies, holds on to some fallacies long since proven to be propaganda. it is particularly hateful towards the French. The Poles won the battle of Britain, single handed broke the casino line and were the only one capable of closing the Falaise gap etc., It's over the top and detracts from the memory of The Poles who fought with our forebears against such foulness.
I thought at a few points his research regards the conduct of the war as a whole came from old American books and various fictional films.
It is something of a puerile effort. Which is a shame as Poland needs recognition, and several properly researched books so we can truly understand and appreciate their actual contribution to Allied success.
