Orphaned and alone in the world, Elizabeth Bennet has found reasonable contentment as a companion to the dowager countess of Matlock, the affairs of 1811 and Fitzwilliam Darcy long forgotten. Engrossing
Shades of Rebecca flavour this tale of mature love and all that this entails. I loved it!

Well-written but not my favourite
This JA variation was interesting and well-written. Basically it's a mash-up between Pride and Prejudice and Rebecca (Du Maurier). It's well done but somehow didn't quite grab me enough to make it a favourite. Too much use of quoted text from the original and Darcy remained a remote character, I never warmed to him. Stevie Zimmerman's narration is impeccable as always.
