Summary

A jewel heist. A murdered actress. A killer case for NYPD Red.

In a city where crime never sleeps, NYPD Red is the elite task force called in when a case involves the rich, famous and connected.

Detectives Zach Jordan and Kylie MacDonald are the best of the best - brilliant and tireless investigators who will stop at nothing to catch a criminal, even if it means antagonising the same powerful people they're supposed to be helping.

When a glitzy movie premiere is the scene of a shocking murder and high-stakes robbery, NYPD Red gets the call. In a hunt that takes Zach and Kylie from celebrity penthouses to the depths of Manhattan's criminal underworld, they have to find the cold-blooded killer - before he strikes again.

Go NYPD Red

more brilliant story love the characters? Will there be more? Could get a bit stagnant if not careful. Had to listen several times to ensure nothing had been missed.

Love and Crime make a healthy romance?

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I think that this book, more than 1, 2 or 3 gives much more feeling to the personal relationship between the two detectives and eventually provides the clarity that they both need.

What other book might you compare NYPD Red 4 to, and why?

Whilst the characters are the same as in books 1, 2 and 3 the storyline is different enough to keep your attention to make you want to keep listening way past the time that you should be putting it down.

Which character – as performed by Edoardo Ballerini and Jay Snyder – was your favourite?

Zach is still my favourite character as he shares so many true male characteristics that he is true to life. No matter how much he loves Stacy he will still risk everything to help his first love when she is in distress.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The love for her son shown by the old con woman when she knew that it was better to turn her son in and keep him safe than allow him to be the next victim.

Any additional comments?

Once I started it I had trouble putting it down. It is only just under 7 hours so I managed to listen an hour at a time and finished in a week. I have trouble staying awake for long periods so I need to force myself and this book managed that.

Another enjoyable book

I've enjoyed the previous 3 NYPD RED books and this was no exception. The continuing back story is present and I look forward to hearing the NYPD RED 5.

Okay

I had been meaning to get to the next instalment of the NYPD Red stories for a while after thoroughly enjoying the first three books in the series. This book was disappointing in contrast. The plot was thin and the implausible in places and I'm not convinced I would read a further edition in what was an enjoyable series.
