A gentle pleasure
It was a pleasure to listen to some early cases of the famous Belgium detective and even more so of a charm to hear it read by Hugh Fraser.

Short Stories
A lovely bundle of stories, each lasting about 30 minutes and beautifully narrated by the soothing voice of Hugh Fraser. Only gave 4 stars because quite a lot of the stories already appear on other audio recordings. I most enjoyed the final mystery, The Pearl of Price, which has a very psychological storyline. It emphasizes the distinctive skills of Agatha Christie.

Audible: Please add titles to chapters!
This audibook is amazing. Another wonderful collection of Agatha Christie stories. My only issue is that each chapter is a different story, but they are numbered, not titled. Please Audible!!! if you don't want to do it yourself at least give me the option to name the chapters myself. it's impossible to find the story I am looking for!

A Delight
Hugh Fraser was wonderful. So easy to listen to and each character was different, but not that different, just right.

Lovely stories
A nice mix of Agatha Christie stories, my only complaint is the bad editing, random comments like " end of disc three" could have been easily sorted out.

Short Stories - Nothing to Chew On
Disappointed in stories. Performance Good. Nothing to get your teeth into or imagination engaged. Wouldn't recommend.

Not Christie's best work
The narration improves as the stories progress- the first few are quite poorly performed and there is very little variation in the voices, making it hard to tell who is speaking. However, the last ones are much better delivered. It's quite odd, given that it's the same narrator throughout!
The stories themselves are 'so so' - unusually predictable for Christie, and I have never really liked Parker Pine or Satterthwaite as characters. Several of the stories contain significant misogynistic elements - including the rather bizarre claims that women like being mistreated. I am a big fan of Christie and can usually put her occasional outbursts of racism, snobbery and misogyny in their historical, social and cultural context, but some of the attitudes in here are hard to swallow.
Not one of the best Christie collections, I'm afraid.
