Summary
Mike Hammer is summoned to a meeting with Jamie Winters, a US senator from New York, and Jamie's lovely, very smart wife, Nicole, considered by many to be the power behind the throne. Winters is being blackmailed, and Hammer is given a list of suspects who may be behind the threats to the senator's career. But when the suspects begin to drop like flies, Hammer realizes there is more to this case than just a salacious tape.

Another action-packed, non-pc as hell, Mickey/Collins read!
Well, what can you say?
No, not Raymond Chandler or Dashiel Hammet, or even Jim Thompson.
When you walk into any McD’s in the world you always know what you’ll get. And, yup every Mickey Spillane novel is in the same fashion, you are certain of the product and its quality, even the ones he didn’t write.
Don’t tell anybody, this is my own dirty, little secret. I love this hard-boiled noir pulp genre. Yes, with all those wonderful non-pc stereotypes! or, preciously because of them.
Another of those fun, nonfactual, unfinished, old fashioned Mickey Spillane novels reconstructed by the faithful Collins.
Might seem a little too ridiculously preoccupied by luscious, manipulative sex dolls babes and strong, dangerous, violent, randy, fedora wearing detectives (although yes, be it with the years piling up on most of them) but they’re still knocking heads with the young bulls, kicking ass n taking names.
But, every now and then, you get an unexpected bonus - a line, a description, a concept of pure power and gold.
Narration is good.

Loved it
The story wasn't too convoluted, I liked the pace and style of the narration. Looking forward to the next story
