If he can control her mind....
Government operative David Jenkins is skilled at controlling his emotions. Feelings are lethal when your job is to infiltrate minds, erase and implant thoughts, and guard the nation's intellectual capital. But even he can't fight his strange attraction to Grace Woznisky. He'll do whatever it takes to protect her from a madman intent on possessing both their minds. Neither suspect their dangerous enemy has a larger motive, and David may be Grace's only chance for survival.
Can he control her heart?
All freelance artist Grace wants is steady-paying work and to see her flighty sister to the altar. She must decide: Are her growing feelings for her new boss authentic, or is she a victim of his mind-altering abilities?

Interesting paranormal romance
This is an unusual and interesting paranormal romance. Amanda Uhl has explored the mysteries of the mind to create this story. The result is a very interesting start to a series.
David is a mind hacker. He is part of a special unit of the FBI that uses their abilities to extract secrets and so on from the minds of suspects, etc. David has attracted the interest of a rogue mind hacker. And civilian Grace has attracted David's attention. Needless to say, the rogue hacker has an interest in Grace too.
Grace is a recently divorced artist who is on the brink of loosing everything. She needs a job and she needs it yesterday. She has an interview that has the potential to pull her back from the edge but David appears to block her. She does not get that commission but David redeems himself by giving her another project working for him.
Their chemistry is pretty potent but I like the fact that Grace has her issues, concerns and insecurities. It makes her real. As their relationship develops, so does the rogue hacker's efforts.
Not all wars happen in a battle field. Sometimes they happen in the recesses of the mind.
I am looking forward in this series. It has a lot of potential!

Exciting romantic suspense!
Amanda Uhl is a new to me author, and this book is amazing. If you like romantic suspense, this is for you. David is part of a governmental agency that is able to infiltrate minds. When he is with Grace, their connection is so strong, and their love growing. Now she is the target of a madman, and David needs to do whatever it takes to protect her. Even if it means erasing him from her mind. Is he strong enough to ward off the attacker and take the mind hacker down? How interesting and scary this book is all at the same time! Grace is amazing. I love her strength and trust. When things are not as they seem, and she has no memory of David, she still puts her trust in him. David is like superman. He knows exactly what he needs to do, and is there when he is has to be. And the craziness of a madman, all for power is just insane. It's that thrilling suspense feel, wondering what is going to happen, will they catch him, the intricacy of the chase and the power of love. It's a fantastic listen.
Amanda Uhl narrates her own book with a powerful performance. She is talented, with an array of voices and her acting ability is spot on. Able to tell the story as intended, I think the book truly comes alive.

Mind blowing!
I loved this book, right from the beginning I was sucked into the story and was on the the edge of my seat, this was action packed, full of suspense and romance. I loved the romance between Grace and David, and the stalking mind hacker was super creepy, I was kept guessing all the way through as to who else was involved, would it be someone close to them both betraying them. This was a gripping, addictive book and as soon as I'd finished I was checking to see if there was a sequel, I'm extremely disappointed that there isn't, maybe later on? This book was also narrated by the author Amanda Uhl it was professional an expressive, a pleasant surprise.

Loved
I did enjoy listening to Amanda Uhl
Loved this book. Mysterious circumstances bringing David and Grace together. Grace trying to find work as she has bills to pay since after divorce. She got a chance to bid for a big project that would get her through several months. Meeting David adds relief with a job offer and at the same time tension to her life.
This book has suspense, romance, action and humour.

Interesting story and concept
3.5 stars
This story fascinated me and really got me thinking about what could happen if people could read minds and influence them.
The story takes us on a journey of espionage. The US government have agents who can read and influence minds, and David is their best agent. When his interest in Grace pulls her into an ongoing investigation, David is determined to keep her safe, but he doesn't know who the rouge hacker is and he doesn't know if he is strong enough to win.
The process behind the 'Mind reading/influencing' was explained well, and although I didn't understand everything, I understood enjoy to enjoy the story. Some of the 'mind battles' were a little confusing, but I got the gist.
Grace was the FMC, but I felt she was a push-over, I constantly wished that she would stand up to people more. It just seemed that she went along with everyone else and tried not to rock the boat.
For me David was hard to like, there were moments when I could see his love/devotion for Grace, but most of the time he just seemed stalkerish and domineering. His constant disregard for Grace's wishes and requests was a huge red flag, and he came across as a bit of a bully, always pushing to get his own way.
I can't make my mind up about the ending. It wasn't unexpected, but it was also just a touch disappointing because it was so predictable - I also wanted Grace to stand up for herself for once.
The narration was good, easy to listen to and clear. There are no different voices/accents further characters but you know exactly who is talking and when.
