Summary

Maybe, you don’t have to figure it all out yourself!

A currency trader receives a million-dollar algorithm as a “mental download”. A financial advisor has ominous dreams three nights in a row and then warns her clients to cash out. Three days later, markets plummet as COVID-19 hits. Two years into a bogus lawsuit, a CEO chooses to forgive. His attorney calls four minutes later - case settled. These ideas did not come from within these people, but from a power outside themselves - the Muse.

“God’s got multiple memos in your message box awaiting your immediate response. Perry’s book will introduce them to you, help you effectively see them, and make your life infinitely more interesting, important, and impactful now. This book will inspire you to release all of your memos that have been in a holding pattern.” (Mark Victor Hansen, co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul, One Minute Millionaire, and Ask! book series selling over a half billion books)

I got the message loud and clear!

Awesome book!
It spoke to me on so many levels and I will follow up after reading.
If your wondering whether or not to pick this up, I would highly recommend if you are either in business or thinking about starting one and you are open-minded.
If your are skeptical but open to hear something new, get this book but if you are closed minded you will probably struggle with this. It does go to some interesting places.

It is primarily a message of encouragement for you woven together through many engaging stories of business owners who have been in the trenches. I find this aspect to add a lot of legitimacy to the message especially when you consider not all stories hold the same beliefs and are from diverse backgrounds.

In saying that this really is a book for everyone. Even if business is not on your mind it could be your career, family, school it something else entirely.

Have a listen, keep an open mind and see what comes of it 🙂

All over the place

I read this after finishing God Talks, by Ed Rush.

I really struggled with this one, but persevered.

It's not very well-written (e.g. referring to Jesus on the cross, talking to one of the thieves by addressing him as "Dude"; either no logical structure to the book, or one that's hard to follow, and more odd/off writing style).

Between Perry presumably being the predominant voice, and flipping all over the place with people's random stories, interspersed with "Perry here" comments, it felt very disjointed.

I had an expectation of this being more of a guidebook, but rather, it's more of a collection of people's stories, resulting in a sort of "What difference does Jesus actually make, then?" question in my head, given that it seems that anyone of any persuasion can simply "receive memos" from the "head office", regardless of their belief in God, Jesus, etc.

The very frequent recommendation to go to the Web address given for more on memos, etc. became annoying very quickly.

Lastly, for a book being written predominantly in the voice of the male author, having his daughter (I think) read it was an odd choice.

Would I recommend this book? Probably not. Listen to God Talks instead... and read the BIBLE... and pray.
