Summary

Random House presents the audiobook edition of Meet Me at the Museum by Anne Youngson, read by Helen Lloyd and Lars Knudsen.

Sometimes it takes a stranger to really know who you are

When Tina Hopgood writes a letter of regret to a man she has never met, she doesn’t expect a reply.

When Anders Larsen, a lonely museum curator, answers it, nor does he.

They’re both searching for something, they just don’t know it yet.

Anders has lost his wife, along with his hopes and dreams for the future. Tina is trapped in a marriage she doesn’t remember choosing.

Slowly their correspondence blossoms as they bare their souls to each other with stories of joy, anguish and discovery. But then Tina’s letters suddenly cease, and Anders is thrown into despair.

Can their unexpected friendship survive?

Superb story, superbly read

Very enjoyable two-voice story which is perfect for an audio book, with excellent performances from the two readers to match.

Su heartwarming

Such a quietly thoughtful story.
Started slowly but you really get into the heads of the two main characters and it truly makes you think about our lives and how we live them.
I couldnt stop listening and really wanted to know how this would end.
Which it sort of doesn't but is better that way

wonderful

I tried to listen to this book a while back and could buy get into it, however this week I started again and could not stop listening. the way the relationship builds throughout the letters , the reading between the lines, the description of each of their lives has been fascinating, pictorial and delightful to be part of. I am sure I will listen again at some point. I have already recommended it to a friend. I think I would like to have the book to read to.

Beautiful narration of an unexpected story. I will imagine their ongoing stories as equally charming.

Beautiful memorable totally wonderful

A slow starter but it builds and flourishes to a superb finale. Sending the reader to find more information about the bog people and Tollund Man whose face invites proper contemplation. I loved this all and feel the richer for having listened to it. A perfect narration and a delightful imagination of a worthwhile conversation by letters. Five stars *****

Wanted it to continue.

I have loved this book from beginning to end. The characters are so very human and believable. I think it has made me more aware than previously that so many things that make up our lives may seem trivial to ourselves and yet are filled with significance when we think of them in perspective or from someone else's point of view.
