Good story, shame about the narration

I found the poor pronunciation and absurd accents used to present this book distracting. Some of the Welsh accents were distinctly Scottish with one being so far removed from Europe as to be almost Tibetan. The Yorkshire accent was just dreadful. Many names of people and places were mispronounced too.

The sign of a good narrator

The sign of a good narrator is to never get in the way of the flow of the story and this story runs at a gallop - sometimes quite literally - across northern France & southern England in the Middle Ages and dips into 21st century USA, without the narrator ever slowing the pace.
Sarah conveys the characters in such depth, via revealing how they act and react in the tale's events that we feel we know them intimately. What does this add up to? .... Listening all night in my case!
