Summary
Lorsque, dix ans après les faits, le mariachi Orlando Merced succombe à ses blessures, l'inspecteur Harry Bosch hérite d'un vrai cas d'école à enseigner à la jeune inspectrice Lucia Soto. Hormis une balle retrouvée à l'autopsie, les pistes sont inexistantes. Plus ennuyeux, et dangereux pour Bosch, Lucia semble beaucoup s'intéresser à un autre dossier, et mettre son nez là où il ne faut pas. Très ébranlé par la nature de cette deuxième à aire, Bosch décide de passer outre au règlement et de mener les deux enquêtes de front, malgré les risques encourus dans une ville où la passion politique l'emporte sur tout.

It failed to captivate me
It failed to captivate me. Jumping from one investigation to the next. From the present to the past. A lot of blah blah blah. You always have to be on your toes, paying attention. Or I listen while riding the train, subway, bus. I've wasted 3 minutes and I don't understand anything. I have to go over it again and again. I finally gave up.

le lecteur devrait s'abstenir de modifier sa voie pour les personnages car tous les personnages féminins en ressortent une voix niaise qui ne collent pas du tout aux personnages.
