About this listen
From Manuka to Manhattan, Lauren’s going all the way!
Lauren is a curator at the National Aboriginal Gallery in Canberra. She's good at her job, passionate about the arts and focused on her work - that is, when she's not focusing on Adam.
But Adam is a player, on and off the field. Lauren knows he's the one, but he doesn't seem to feel the same way about her. If she just waits long enough, though, surely he'll realise how much he needs her?
Then her boss offers her the chance of a lifetime - a fellowship at the Smithsonian in New York. Lauren has to make some big decisions: the Man or Manhattan?

Enjoyable
It was nice to have a love story from Australia for a change. I enjoyed listening to the story.

Intelligent love story
Loved this. Clever, informative and well written story that was performed well. Wish I had a paper copy of the book so I could look up all the references. Highly recommend if you're a romantic like me :-)

Interesting as well as a romance
I didn’t think I was going to enjoy this book at first as Lauren was so hung up on Adam but after a few chapters I found myself really warming to her. It was also very interesting learning about the history & aboriginal culture as well which was an added bonus to the love story.

Annoying lead character
Lauren is too busy setting up romantic scenarios for herself, and feeling sorry for herself because everyone finds her soooooo attractive. She made sweeping generalisations about Wyatt, despite being offended by pretty much everything anyone said to her. A good story, spoiled by a prissy and conceited main character.

Not the best listen
Hard to listen to. Lead came across as dependant on love, Not a great storyline.

Woman acting stupidly
The heroine has a f*** buddy she classifies as a boyfriend and the more he tells her he doesn't want anything serious, the more she tries to force it.
And for someone whose whole work is based on fighting prejudice, she just assumes a man is gay based only on him not hitting on her. Since she is so irresistible, that can be the only explanation.
Bah

awful heroine.
The heroine's character changes from chapter to chapter none of them are particularly likeable. The American reviews are truer than the one UK review I've seen.
