Summary
If you knew love could kill you, would you still fall?
The moment Brando Piero Fausti appeared in the snow-filled night, he made the blood hum in my veins. With a body worthy of a statue in Italy, he tethered my life to his with an irrevocable bond. He was the most dangerous man I had ever felt. A savage beast lurked just beneath his surface, ready to battle for what he loved the most—me.
Little did I know that he would lure me into a gilded cage with his beautiful words and searing touch. Little did he know, I’d always fight to follow the true alignment of my stars.
Man of Honor is the beginning of an eight-part Royal Organized Crime Romance saga.
Previously released as The Beautiful Years I.

Slow burn, beautiful story
What happens when your brother’s best friend can’t let go of you, and you recognize the undeniable truth of what fate has in store?
Scarlett is a talented, once-in-a-lifetime dance prodigy given a chance to have one year as a normal high school student. Her brother’s best friend, Brando, is the son of an eccentric woman and her ex-lover mob boss currently in prison. Brando denies his criminal family, and works on the oil rigs earning an honest, if not dangerous, living.
This beautiful story unravels as Scarlett’s family endures an unimaginable tragedy. Her family does not want her to waste her wonderful talent, but there is no denying the natural and undeniable love building between Scarlett and Brando. This is part one of a series. It’s so beautifully written and narrated. The ending will leave you on the edge of you seat and is a cliff-hanger, but you’ll absolutely love how it will dovetail into book 2.
I am giving you my honest perspective and review in exchange for a copy of this book.

A Mesmerizing & Beautifully Told Story & Listen🎧
Bella Di Corte never ceases to amaze me with her wonderful writing style and ability to not only captivate my attention the entire book but tug on my heartstrings too. “The Fausti Family” saga series is going to be eight books, and this first is where it all begins for the two lead characters Brando Piero Fausti and Scarlett Rose Poésy. Brando is a friend of Scarlett’s brother Elliott and while he always knew who Scarlett was, she never knew him, that was until that snow-filled night outside the dance studio where she practiced ballet. She was fifteen at the time and he a few years older, but he knew then that she would be his. That same night tragedy strikes close to home forever changing her life, she only saw Brando in passing but he kept dibs on her from a distance and always looked out for her. And when she is a little older, he becomes part of her life again, first she thinks he is just looking out for her because of Elliott, but he makes it clear it is more than that. Scarlett’s family wants her to pursue a dancing career, but she rather stay close to home and teach. Brando wants what is best for Scarlett and will do anything to make sure she gets everything she deserves in life, even if does not include him in her life. This is a beautifully written and beautifully told story of young love, first love, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions and romance. Bella Di Corte, thank you for this amazing story and series start, I am looking forward to what comes next for Brando and Scarlett.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Verna Bond and Antonio Amato did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Verna Bond played Scarlett’s role with perfection, captured her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Antonio Amato did the same for Brando, grasped his intensity and brought out every bit of his alphatude too. Both were great at performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fabulous listen.

Too much detail?
I’m torn with this book. I loved the storyline and the characters, the chemistry between them was amazing but the writing style was so specific and exact. I felt there was a bit too much descriptive writing. I would definitely listen to the next book as the storyline get you hooked. Great performance.

Epic love story
This book wasn’t at all what I was expecting. Instead of standard mafia romance with violence and dark themes, this was one of the most mesmerising books I have listened to in a long time. I’d describe it as an epic love story, rather than a mafia themed romance. I haven’t come across this author before, but was transfixed by her lyrical, almost poetic writing style. The female narrator brings Scarlet to life through the dreamy, introspective text and this is complimented by the raw, slightly gritty male narrator who sets the scene through Brando’s perspective in the prologue. This book is deeply emotional and romantic and I think my only criticism would be that by the end, it still feels like the story is only just getting started. However, having read the author’s letter to readers on Goodreads, I can better appreciate why this book was written and how it fits in to the series as a whole. I can’t wait to hear more, both from these narrators and from this author - it’s a winning combination!

A slow burn
An entertaining read but quite slow and I lost interest halfway through. The narration is very good and I enjoyed listening to the production but felt that the book was unnecessarily long.
I received a free copy and this is my unbiased opinion.
