Summary
A one-man play.
In 1924, George Mallory and his climbing partner, Sandy Ervine, vanished into the mist high on Everest while making their attempt to be the first men to climb the world's highest mountain. They never returned from their assault on the mountain, and for decades, controversy has raged over their fate and the unanswered question as to whether they made it to the top.
In 2014, John D Burns performed a one-man play about George Mallory and his attempt on the mountain. This book is an audio version of the play.
The events depicted in the play are historically accurate with only one major deviation from the facts. In the play Mallory has survived the climb and looks back over his life, confronting the demons that have pursued him.
