Summary
Tortured by brutal memories of his wife’s murder yet commanded to wed, warrior Magnus finds unexpected passion in his new bride’s arms. But can Modwen's love heal the wounds of his battle-scarred heart - or will another’s jealousy destroy them both?
A horde of battle-hardened, ferocious warriors. A village at the mercy of its enemies. A bargain struck for nine fearful and reluctant brides. Delivered into Viking hands, claimed and conquered, each bride must accept that she belongs to her new master. But, as wedding nights bring surrender to duty, will fierce lovers also surrender their hearts?
Magnus is one of nine powerfully seductive romances in the Viking Surrender series.

Another Viking Pleasure
The story of Magnus and Mowden is not only passionate but also endearing. These are two people coping with broken hearts. Magnus is forced to take a new wife even though he is haunted by the murder of his first wife. Blaming himself he seeks solace in his forge. Mowden deals with her grief whilst trying to adapt to her new life with Magnus. Meanwhile the threat of another may put a stop to their union of hearts and bodies.
This is erotic romance at it's finest, the right balance between sexual pleasure and the gentle coming together of hearts and souls. The characters are strong and grounded and the book has a rich sense of the battle hardened viking world.

A Loving Viking!
This is a story filled with fiery passion and a love born in emotional and physical pain.
To begin with, Magnus takes a wife as this is what his leader has ordained, but she will be a wife in name only as he is haunted by the memory of his first wife who died a horrible death when he wasn't around to protect her.
It is also a second marriage for Modwen and she cannot understand why Magnus avoids her.
Being a romance story, you will be relieved to know that they do find their way around each other and do fall passionately in love.
Oh my goodness! What a story!
The narration is very interesting in that there are two narrators, one a male (James Magnum) and the other is a female (Violet Knight) and both with interesting and fitting accents which enhance the reading.
I loved all of it and more this time around than when I read the ebook last year. There is just something about a good narration that just makes the story come alive.
Definitely not one to be missed!
I was gifted a copy of the audiobook and my voluntary review above is based on my own thoughts and is unbiased.

Magnus
This is an excellent book. About a widow and widower who were ordered to marry. The husband really did not want to be married and he slept in the place where he worked and did not consummate the marriage. Her first husbands Uncle would come to attempt to sexually abuse her. The last time he called she knocked him out and he hit his head and died. Her husband felt so guilty about not looking after her as he should he went to the Jaerl and told him he had done it. He was punished for the incident but then sat by his wife. When she woke she remembered what happened then went to the Jaerl and admitted that she had done it. She also told him about the abuse and he forgave her. Then they made love and had a beautiful daughter. They ended up being so very happy. Very enjoyable book Loved the two story tellers. Loved the way he said the authors beautiful name. X

Loved it.
I enjoyed this listen very much. It’s not overly long or complicated but it is very good. Quality over quantity here. I don’t want to give anything away, but it’s a good listen with dual narration, which I quite liked.

A second chance for Love!
This is my 3rd Audio book by Emmanuelle and I have found her stories wonderfully intriguing. They all started slowly and drew you in.
There is no chance of a DNF you have to fund out how the story pans out for both H and h.
I Loved this book!

An excellent Viking audiobook
Emmanuelle de Maupassant is a superb storyteller. She really knows how to use language to evoke the Viking era and create a really powerful atmosphere in her books. She uses subtle observations and beautiful words to bring her world to life.
Magnus and Modwen are separately widowed and required to enter into an arranged marriage together. They both are reticent to start with, but gradually over time their situation becomes something more.
This book has sensuality, and love, and some jeopardy within it, and overall I felt an immediate connection with, and liking of the two main characters.
Magnus is a complete standalone story from the Viking Surrender series. I highly recommend it to lovers of Viking and historical romance audiobooks.
