Summary
I want nothing more than to escape my destiny.
Being alpha-born means walking a path that's already been laid out for me, with a mate I don't get to choose.
On a Lycan's 21st birthday, we are fated to find our true mate. Only, I don't want one. I'm not ready yet.
I want to travel and see the world, but I can't do that, either.
When our world comes under attack from a foe we thought long vanquished, everything I thought I knew gets flipped upside down.
With nowhere to turn after my mate rejects me, feeling suffocated by my own skin, I leave my pack to try and find myself...but get found instead.
While this book is part of The Seven Realms saga and does contain some tiny spoilers to the Shadow Walkers Saga, it can be listened to without having to have heard any of the other books in the Seven Realms world.

This was just so good. I loved the mate aspect of it and the way the story flowed. The pacing of the story being told more than kept my attention and i just want to give a high 5 to the author and the narrator for the opening chapter. That was so well done.
I am really hoping that the net one comes soon as im invested in these characters now and I really hope Meg is narrating again as she did such an amazing job at giving these characters life.

Fabulous
There’s nothing more Luna wants is to live her life how she wants . However being an Alpha when she reaches 21 she has to have a mate she hasn’t chosen but when a foe long thought forgotten turns up everything changes . I really enjoyed listening to this and Meg Price did a great job narrating.

What a ride!
First, the narrator did such an incredible job. Second, holy amazeballs, what an amazing story!!! The dialogue and chemistry were so well done. The words and the world they created were just awesome. I just cannot wait for more. This story had me from the first word until the last. The story just flew by and left me wanting so much more.

Great story!
“Yes to everything about this story!!! Rejected mates, slow burn romance, angst and over the top chemistry? OMG!!! It was fantastic!!! One of the things I liked the most was Luna’s attitude. Someone that wants to explore the world like Aladdin’s song without the duet love lol… like explore wonder by wonder before being tied down. Did I mention rejected mates? Yes!!!! It was epic!! A huge shoutout to Meg for the incredible narration.”

Rejected Mate
I enjoyed Luna Rising. The plot line was somewhat predictable but still kept me hooked. I loved the action scenes and the angst - though there were some times where it was just overwhelming angst and I wanted some more story.
The way the characters, especially Luna and her family, felt quite immature. They couldn't express a thought without it being riddled with swears. I swear a fair amount myself and it still felt like a lot.
The cliffhanger ending has me eagerly wanting the next book. Despite it's flaws, I enjoyed the journey and will continue. I'd give the story a 3.5 and the narration a 4.5-5.
Meg Price's narration was fantastic. She was the perfect voice and i'll definitely be listening to more from her.

Next, please!!
This one took me by surprise, suppressing my expectations. Luna Rising is brilliantly written and totally captivating, and a fantastic start to a terrific shifter paranormal series, Shadow Legacies. Shadow Legacies is set in the same world as Sloane Murphy's earlier series; if you've read her books, you'll love the appearances of previous characters. As always, both world-building and character development are phenomenal, creative, and fascinating. Our heroine, Luna, a Lycan, is about to turn 21, an age where she has to find her mate. But her independent streak and desire for freedom make her reluctant to follow tradition, obligation, and fate. But being the daughter of an Alpha and everyone's intervening make it literally unthinkable for her to shirk off her duty.
When the time comes, her destined mate rejects their bond, leaving Luna actually heartbroken, even though she didn't want him as a mate. There is more to it, but I'm not going to spoil the story by giving more details. Sloane Murphy's depictions of Luna's emotional turmoil, fear, rejection, and heartbreak were entirely genuine. Aside from Luna's everyday life and drama, the storyline has a current of suspense and surprising twists. Even though it ended in a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, the ending was spectacular. Honestly, the second audiobook can't be published fast enough.
As for the narration, Meg Price nailed it. Her portrayal of the characters and the underlying emotions was flawless. She breathed life into Murphy's words and made the story even more engaging. All in all, Luna Rising is a must listen, one I'm strongly recommending.

Amazing!
This book had everything I wanted in it. Love, loss, rejection and self discovery. I love that Luna didn’t let herself get kicked down and have a huge pity party while dealing with all the crazy. She just pulled herself together and tries to figure out all her sh!t.

My Thoughts on Luna Rising
3.5 of 5 stars
The narration on this story was fantastic. I feel compelled to say that first. If I was rating on that alone, it would have been a five star listen. But the story itself was a little to drawn out for me. I was halfway through the book before I felt like anything really started happening and then much of the second half was pretty sad. My heart was alternately breaking for Luna and at the same time I was frustrated on her behalf because there seems to be nothing she can do about her pain, and I hate to see a character suffer with no light on the horizon that it will ease. It did however pick up in that second half and by the end I was intrigued enough to want to continue to book two at least and see what it might bring.
