Summary

I must have been cursed from birth...

And that is becoming clearer with every passing day.

My ankles are swollen from the chains around them, my tongue feels like sandpaper, and the dripping water in the jail cell beside mine is so close, yet so far away.

For the first time in werewolf history, two wolves have the same mate. The same woman was blessed by their goddess to be their partner for eternity, and I’m that woman.

Yeah, that’s not a blessing to me.

It’s bad enough I’m a human and unworthy of being a wolf’s mate, but now, I’m the mate to two rival wolves, two alphas-to-be.

Xavier and I have grown close....

But Axel Grimmwolf, eye candy and a man no one dares stand against, is disgusted by the thought of a human being as his mate.

But even so, he lacks the strength to reject me.

So, here I am, chained up in his dungeon, with no idea what Axel will do with me after he uses me to get rid of Xavier’s pack.

Assuming I live that long...

I know Xavier is searching for me, but what if he doesn’t find me in time? What if this is how I’m meant to die?

Brilliant

This book is brilliant focussing on a couple of exceptionally written had guys that you love to hate! It is a wonderfully emotional and thrilling story and OMG what an amazing cliff hanger ending. I cannot wait to listen to the next book. The narrator really brings the characters to life with clear and distinctive voices for each one.

Exciting sequel to Luna Rising

“She is only safe for now, Xavier. The council knows about her, so they are coming for you. You broke the law by sparing a human. They won’t care that she’s your mate. You broke the law, and that is all the reason they need to step in. Then they will focus on how a human can we mated to a wolf. They might even try to bury the entire Blackmoon pack to hide this.” - Natalie

It’s been a week since Luna was abducted by Axel Grimmwolf. In that time he’s had her cruelly chained up in a dungeon with the minimum amount of food and water. Xavier has been beside himself with worry. Not only for Luna who seems to have vanished without a trace, but for Natalie who’s been missing for just as long.

When Natalie suddenly turns up out of the blue, Xavier is shocked by her physical transformation. Her hair has turned white and a great power seems to emanate from her. Natalie explains that Adolfa transferred all her power to her before she died. With her new powers, Natalie has been given insight into the future, a future that doesn’t bode well for her friends. Something is coming and Natalie must ensure that they are ready..

Natalie informs Xavier that it was Axel who abducted Luna. She also warns him that Axel has informed the Council about Luna and they are now on their way to interrogate the Pack for failing to kill Luna after she learned of their existence. Xavier can only hope that the Council won’t let their hatred for humans get in the way of their decision when they pass judgement on the Blackmoon Pack.

Instead of a representative however, Xavier and his father are surprised when Olcan Crescent himself, arrives with his Enchanted to ascertain whether or not Luna is truly mated to both Alpha’s in the making.

Xavier’s relief knows no bounds when Axel finally arrives with Luna. His relief soon turns to apprehension however, when Olcan’s plans for Luna become all too apparent - forcing them to make a rash decision...

Luna Captured is the second instalment of the Luna Rising series and what an exciting continuation of the series it was. Told from multiple point of views that include; Luna, Xavier, Axel and Natalie, the book picks up a week following Luna’s abduction by Axel, the alpha in line of a rival pack. The use of alternating points of view gave deeper insight into the thoughts and feelings of the main characters which proved invaluable at times, particularly with Axel, who I find to be the most complex character of all. Initially, in defiance of the mate bond, Axel has imprisoned Luna in a dungeon in the most appalling conditions. As the book progresses however, we see him develop a begrudging respect for Ruby and I hope he will redeem himself later down the line.

The plot contained some interesting developments with the introduction of the Council. Its apparent that the Council are not quite what they seem and while many Packs seem recognise this - Axel and his Pack are one of the few who still trust that they have their best interests at heart.

I liked that Natalie was given a more prominent role in this instalment. Her visions of the future suggest that there is trouble ahead for our main characters and I’m intrigued to find out more. Olcan’s Enchanted, Reika was also a welcome addition.

Ruby herself remains an enigma. Who and what she is, is only slightly touched upon in this instalment. I look forward to learning more about her past and the part she will play in the future.

All in all this was a fast paced, darker themed instalment with an eclectic mix of personalities that are easy to visualise. A whopping cliffhanger has endured that this reader will be eagerly reading the follow up.

I received an advanced free audible copy of Luna Captured and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Meg Price did a wonderful job of bringing the story and characters to life with her clear and concise narration.
