About this listen
One good deed can change everything.
After saving a woman from an armed robber at a truck stop, former soldier John Lucky is more than happy to take her number, even if she does print it out on a lottery ticket. He's even more happy when that ticket wins the lottery and he can take himself and his Army bud Davey down to Florida so they can live the good life in the paradise that is the Gulf Coast.
Drinks, girls, and good times take a backseat to trouble, though, when "Lucky John" (as the papers dubbed him) finds himself entangled in a murder investigation that might send the luckiest man in the world down the river for a crime he didn't commit.
Fans of Travis McGee, Wayne Stinnett, and Randy Wayne White will love Lucky John and his friends' misadventures in the Gulf Coast. Pick up a copy of this edge-of-your-seat, fun-soaked adventure today!

I feel lucky to have found this book
I don't know what I was expecting with book but I thought the blurb sounded interesting, so I gave it a go and boy do I feel lucky to have found it, as I really enjoyed it. I liked the characters, especially little Jack who tugged on my heart strings a couple of times. Lucky John is a great main character and always seems to be in the wrong place at the right time or is that right place at the wrong time. In some ways he reminded me of Lee Childs Jack Reacher, taking on the world to help the little guy, just less violent with it. Well he does keep taking on the bad guy's with just a bottle. Lucky also has a buddy to add some light humour and winning the lottery was a unusual and fun aspect to the series. The mystery was good and kept you guessing what was really going on, especially with all the twists. I had guessed who was behind it all but didn't know why but i was hooked until the very end. I hope to be lucky and enjoy another adventure by this author very soon.
Ex soldier turned Erick drive John Lucky only stopped for a pit stop, instead he stops a robbery and with no pen to write the cashiers number on, he buys a lottery ticket using her phone number and wins big. After sharing the winning with her, he and his buddy head to Florida. Once again Lucky plays hero and saves a damsel in distress but this time things don't turn out so lucky. Her ex husband is found dead and Lucky finds the body only hours after trying to stop her son from being kidnapped. The dead man's father is the chief of police and suspects Lucky and with somebody trying to frame him and another attempted kidnapping, Lucky will need all his Lucky to protect the boy and find out what is really going on.
I liked the narrator he did some good sounding voices (and some funny ones) and my heart broke at the sound of little Jack calling for Mr Fortune.

Unexpected
This story was definitely twisty and turny and quirky and I enjoyed the whole thing. It seemed a little farfetched, but it was still enjoyable. I loved the suspense and thrill of it all. The action, the adventure, it was entertainment at its best.
John Lucky, or as the papers have labeled him Lucky John, has had a whirlwind of a life the past few months and it has been one thing after another for him. There were so many different things going on the suspense was delightful and I couldn't walk away I had to see it through, I listened to the whole thing in one sitting. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Jeffrey Holz did amazing at bringing the drama and emotions out in this story. It was well performed.

Loved the narration of Jeffrey Holz
Action all the way through. After saving a woman from an armed robber at a truck stop, former soldier John Lucky, takes her number, even if she does print it out on a lottery ticket. His luck improves when the ticket wins the lottery. Meaning he can take his Army bud Davey down to Florida so they can live the good life in the paradise that is the Gulf Coast.
Drinks, girls, murder and action.
