Summary

When a prominent family's daughter flees sleepy Sussex to seek a career on the stages of a glittering West End, Harry and Kat are asked to check in on the young woman. But the two of them soon discover that there is a much bigger danger to the woman and her family than mere acting dreams being crushed.

Nathaniel Parker, born in 1962, graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and went on to join the Royal Shakespeare Company. His television career began in 1988 when he played Flying Officer 'Flash' Gordon in the LWT mini-series "Piece of Cake". He is also the lead in the BBC series "The Inspector Lynley Mysteries", based on the novels by Elizabeth George. Nathaniel Parker has an extensive list of audio books to his credit, ranging from the classics of Charles Dickens and Thomas Hardy to more modern writings and children's books.

BEST YET!

Oh yes. Costello and Richards are over their er, difficult second episode, and back on form. In fact above form. Really loved this. Nathaniel Parker does such good voices, has Cat/Kat to a T. Shall not say more or will be one big spoiler.
Adventures starting in Midworth that end in London. All good fun.

Good fun!

I have listened to all 3 stories in this new saga now and have to say that they are definitely growing on me! Initially, I wasn't sure how I felt as I had been such a fan of the Cherringham series and the first episode of this series was very much a 'scene setter'. However, as the stories progressed, I have found that I am tuning in and appreciating the new UK/US collaboration.
The stories are well set in the late 1920s and have suitably light and predictable plots that make them suitable for non- demanding situations like drifting off to sleep or pushing on with the ironing! I really like the fact that Kit can hold her own and is no wimp! I think it could be time for Harry to show his metal though and I am hoping that will materialise in the next episodes.
Beautifully narrated by Nathaniel Parker who I have just been able to stop picturing as Inspector Lynley!
All in all, jolly good fun!

Easy listen

I enjoyed the book, and the narration was superb, but something was missing. I don't know what it was, it seemed a bit airy fairy.

Like Warm

A copy of a cd box set. Mostly harmless. But very predictable. l should only get this if very cheap or free. Not worth a credit.
