Summary
A girl who’s always been in the shadows finds herself pursued by the unbelievably attractive new boy at school, who may or may not be the death of her. Another girl grows up mute because of a curse placed on her by a vindictive spirit, and later must decide whether to utter her first words to the boy she loves and risk killing everyone who hears her if the curse is real. Weird narration
I loved Laini Taylor's books, having read all of them. I found this book missing grit, I think this is because they are short stories. What really put me off was the narrator, the accents are terrible. This was really off putting.

Pure magic
This book is my favourite one of all I have ever listened to on Audible. The magic in these three stories can touch your heart like nothing else. It is difficult to describe how powerfully it affects me. Suffice it to say, I come back to this book over and over again, when I need hope and when I am sad or when I am happy. Profound and poignant and mystical and beautiful.

Three fantasy novellas
Laini Taylor’s writing is beautifully crafted as always. The narrator is reasonable until she tries to do accents, and then becomes cringworthy.
