Summary
As an adult, I worked in finance. Amazingly, it proved to be an experience I never imagined someone like me would have. The people I worked with influenced me and opened my eyes to a world of possibilities despite my hindrances. I learned how to navigate a path to relative financial freedom from a place of meager living. But more importantly, I think I am beginning to finally understand what I was really meant for.
I believe that anyone can succeed in a non-traditional way by following non-traditional paths. Also, only YOU can define what success is to you and how you arrive there. For most of my life, I didn't know what success really was or what it felt like. I thought I did, and when I reached the higher echelons of banking and finance, it was a huge disappointment. It wasn't until later, and after a series of setbacks and a lifelong struggle with my health, that I finally figured it out. Here's my story."
Todd Krause knew early on that his life was pretty extraordinary. Like a cat with nine lives, when he was a kid he survived a range of challenges and life-threatening situations that made him wonder if he had an actual guardian angel. But then life seemed to catch up to him when, in 2016, doctors discovered an immunodeficiency that had a lasting negative impact on his overall health. Todd's life became a series of doctor's appointments, blood tests to monitor his various conditions, therapies (including two expensive biologic therapies), and vaccinations, but through it all he persevered and managed to succeed in his career beyond what he ever thought possible.
Life's Ironies is an inspiring and thought-provoking true story of one man's journey on the road less traveled, the lessons he learned along the way, and an encouraging message to readers that despite adversity and the idiosyncrasies that life can sometimes throw your way, optimism and perseverance are the true keys to living a fulfilling life.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My work history and academic credentials may impress some people, but that is not who I really am inside. I am a person who took the less-traveled road because of where I came from, my health challenges, and my curious, inquiring mind.
I ventured out from small-town southeastern Wisconsin through the world of high finance and banking, a world that my family does not know or understand, into the world of cleaning, real estate, and media. Along the path my life took, I experienced numerous accidents or mishaps, some accidental, others brought on by engaging in risky behavior.
By the grace of God, I completed all of this while suffering from primary Immunodeficiency, autoimmune urticaria and vasculitis, and other related medical conditions.
