Summary

The lost City of Gold will solve all their problems...if they live to find it.

Fresh off their previous adventure, Peter and his friends settle into ordinary lives, despite their newly gained special powers. Everything changes when they stumble upon artifacts that point to a legendary city of gold, its location lost in time, and its existence doubted by everyone they meet. Enchanted by the promise of untold riches and the thrill of adventure, they embark on a quest to uncover its fabled treasures.

But danger lurks at every turn, and soon they find themselves entangled in a web of betrayal, threats, and unexpected alliances. The few they find who believe in the city will stop at nothing to reach it first.

With their freedom and lives hanging in the balance, they must use their strength, wit, and friendship to overcome the perils that lie ahead. From treacherous jungles to ancient palaces and forgotten ruins, they face ferocious creatures, deadly gangs, and dark secrets. For Peter and his friends, it’s not just a quest for treasure, it’s a race for their lives.

Legend of the Golden City is an epic young-adult fantasy adventure that will captivate listeners from the very first chapter. With its blend of heart-stopping action, deep bonds of friendship, and exciting surprises, this exhilarating tale will leave you breathless and longing for more.

Another Excellent Adventure

Book 2 on the series picked up right where the first left. This was nice having come straight from the first meant there was no downtime in continuing to follow along in the gangs adventures.

Feel like the second book is a stronger overall story. The adventure is more grand and wider reaching, the stakes and shenanigans are also higher and equally/maybe slightly more engaging.

If you enjoyed the first you’ll enjoy this just as much if not more. I did find myself scratching my head and disagreeing with some of the actions or inactions that the characters took on their journey, but I was enjoyably brought along right to the end willing them to succeed.

The characters are just as fun as before and the further developments of them and their relationships is enjoyable to experience. Newly introduced characters for this book also are allowed their time to contribute and shine in the story.

A third book teased in the epilogue, as was the case for the previous, has me very much looking forward to the next instalment !
