Summary

Can love really conquer all? Book six in Katy Evans' breakout New York Times best-selling series that began with REAL.

Maverick "The Avenger" Cage wants to rise to the top and become a legend in the ring. Though he keeps his identity well guarded, he's known on the fighting circuit as the new kid with a chip on his shoulder and a tattoo on his back that marks him as trouble. He's got a personal score to settle with the Underground's one and only Remington "Riptide" Tate.

As Mav trains, he meets a young girl - the only other new person in the town - and sparks fly. When things get heated between them, he finds out she's none other than Reese Dumas, the cousin of Remington Tate's wife. A girl who's supposed to root against him and a girl he's supposed to stay away from.

But Mav fights for the woman in his heart and the monsters in his blood. The world's eyes are on them, and the victor will go down in history as the ultimate fighting champion - the ultimate Legend.

Katy Evans Back At Her Best but Audiobook Has Issues

Finally Katy Evans brings us a love story in line with Real. This book is no filler and both Brooke and Remy are in it but Maverick is the star.

The audio portion of this book wasn't so great. I was on the verge of ditching it after the first chapter but Sebastian York calmed my nerves and drew me back into the story.
The majority of the audiobook is read by Grace Grant who gives no realistic emotion, pauses oddly and robotically and can't keep her voices straight. A few minor characters voices are so creepy that she turned me off characters I had previously enjoyed.

I would recommend reading the book rather than listening to the audiobook. However, if you do listen to the audiobook know that Sebastian York with soothe you out of the passionless, stilted performances of Grace Grant. She isn't always awful but there are enough weirdly read moments to drag you screaming out of this, otherwise fun and flirty story.

Well done Katy Evans and Sebastien York. Katy finally back on form.
