Good but not as good as the first one.

I love this series and this is a good book but the first was twice as good.


Christopher Price does an excellent job taking over the narration from Alexander Cendese and the sound quality is good.

Great story, OK narration

Ok, I am now totally hooked on the Repairman Jack series after reading this. The story moves along well and never lets you know exactly what is going to happen next. It is entertaining, exciting and thrilling all in one. I really loved the story... What I did not enjoy so much was the narration. Don't get me wrong, Christopher Price has a nice tone and soft voice that lends itself well to reading out aloud. What he lacks however is range! He can't do accents of any kind. All the characters basically sound the same or like a bad, almost racist parody for the non US characters (of which there are a lot in this book). It is not so bad that you can't enjoy the book but it is a let down when compared to Joe Barrett's narration in The Tomb. Especially when it comes to the narration of Abe (Jacks Jewish, new yorker best friend), it's like he isn't even trying.

Still a great book and a good listen. Don't miss out.

Jack! The ultimate antihero.

What made the experience of listening to Legacies the most enjoyable?

Wilson has that knack of engrossing the reader/listener. He makes the character's world so believable that you just slip in alongside them as if you are standing behind them. He is not one to over-complicate stories by being too descriptive or by trying to baffle you with science. You just sit there and enjoy the roller coaster rides!

What other book might you compare Legacies to, and why?

It's difficult to compare with another book as I think that the character of Jack is so unique. But I would recommend that anyone looking to get into the series start with 'The Tomb' a truly must read book.

What does Christopher Price bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

As I have read elsewhere on the site, 'a good story teller should be that you do not think of them when listening', and this is true of Mr Price. He brings life to all the characters without being over the top.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Without giving too much away, but towards the end when the doctor opens up to Jack....brought a tear to my eye.

The Repairman Jack series is one of the series that once you have started you cannot stop listening too.

Great Story

As I've said in my title I thought the story was great with plenty of action. Not as many twists as the first book, The Vault had, but good nonetheless.
The major issue I had with this was the narration, which was terrible. the guy narrating sounded almost robotic and has grasp of the characters was nondescript. The chap who narrated the first book was great and I hope he does the other books instead of this guy.
