About this listen
A perfect heartwarming story for fans of Colleen Hoover and Samantha Young. When life takes an unexpected detour and Emma’s heart is laid bare, her best friend’s brother steps in to prove all is not lost in this emotional New York romance from bestselling and award winning author Lydia Michaels.
I always dreamt my wedding would include a fancy gown and pretty pearls, but falling madly in love is much messier than I thought.
Riley has always been a boy in the background of my life–effortlessly cute, entitled, and a total flirt. Thankfully, since I’m his sister’s best friend, he never crossed that line with me, that is, until he unexpectedly saved me in a crisis. He was only trying to be a friend, but I accidentally fell for his irresistible charm. I know Riley doesn’t do serious relationships, so–for the first time in my life–I’m keeping things casual. But when reality gets overly complicated and I try to let him go, the unthinkable happens. How could one person's life change so much overnight, and where do we go from here?

“I’m Pink”
“I’m pink” has to be my favorite line in the entire book. Lydia really hit it out of the park with this book. She hit on so many of the ‘overlooked’ struggles when dealing with that dreaded c word. I absolutely love how she made this into a beautiful romance, but the real story has so much more depth. It really has to be my favorite book of all time! Emma discovers her feelings for Riley as he is helping her through a break up of a five year relationship. Riley is not only Emma’s roommate, but her best friends brother! Riley really shows growth and strength that a partner in life needs and I love his love for ‘old school ways!’ Brain does a süperb job with the narrative, really bringing this story to life.

Rarity needs to leave for a job , asking Riley to keep an eye Emma. Not to pleased Riley steps up. When Emma get some very bad health scare, he becomes her rock. This book will have you laughing and crying . There is drama, heartfelt and emotional. A rollercoaster ride

Gut wrenching brilliance
This book has all the feels. As a cancer survivor myself this book hit me hard. Lydia, thank you so much for writing such a honest emotional account of this process. You have captured not only the sad emotional turmoil of this situation but you have also shown the grit and determination of this wonderful woman and her support system. With excellent laugh out loud moments Brian gives a fantastic performance.

La Vie en Rose
A beautiful lovestory, a rollercoaster of emotions.
Emma and Riley - they know each other for a long time, but it takes them some time to find together.
But what they have is real love, anybody can wish for.
Life theows big rocks into their way, but they manage everything and come out of it stronger and even more in love.
Definitely a recommendation from me!

i cried so much!!
I do not know why, but this book had me in my feelings so much. The writing and the characters are just amazing. The narration is done really well and brings the book together. My attention was captured from the beginning, although I was unable to finish it in one go. I did finish it the following day and I will definitely add this to my listen again library. The story is just so beautiful.

Beautifully unexpected
What did you like most about La Vie en Rose: Life in Pink?
The characters were believable, and likeable from the outset.
The balance of emotions was perfect.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Riley was hilarious. At first impression he seems like an overgrown manchild, but as the story unfolds, and his relationship with Emma progresses we see a very different side to him. He's the kind of man you'd love to have in your life.
Have you listened to any of Brian Callanan’s other performances? How does this one compare?
This was my first, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and my next audiobook is also narrated by Brian.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No. Aside from the fact that it's over 13 hours long, it's also a very emotional read. I was glad to have breaks from listening so I could absorb the details before returning for more.
Any additional comments?
I had no idea what this story would be, but I was completely enthralled from the start.
The things that happen to Emma alter her life beyond recognition, and the way her story is told is so real and emotive that I actually had to stop listening for a while to absorb it all.
The story is 3rd person POV and Brian Callanan's narration is spot on for every character.
A beautiful story which was a pleasure to listen to.

La Vie en Rose
The story starts off very sweet, roommates to lovers. However sadly she ends up with cancer. I loved how they chose to end the story and the narration was fantastic. I felt like the story was dragging at points though and I like lots of details but think it could have been shortened a bit. Overall good storyline. Thanks audiobook obsession for the recommendation.

Brave and emotional love story
Brian Callanan tells this emotional story with conviction and warmth. He brings the changes to the lives of Emma, Riley and Rarity, to life expressively. This is a brave and strong story, bringing strong characters to life while also dealing with issues which many have faced, with sensitivity, honesty and, on occasion, flashes of humour. An honest and compassionate story which is also a love story, one which celebtrates friendship, challenge, love and determination. 💖💖💖💖

Another narrator for female character please
I hear such good things about this book but just don’t think that listening to it is the best option for me. The narrator’s female voice is not cool at all. It sounds like when someone tries too hard or is making fun of a girls voice. I just can’t get past it to continue past the first 20%.
