Summary

Claire Danvers has a few things on her mind. First of all there is the laundry, which is now an unfortunate shade of pink. Then there is her boyfriend, Shane, who is never too far from her thoughts. Finally, there is her best friend Eve's relationship problems. As if life as a student wasn't complicated enough, Claire just happens to be studying in Morganville. A town run by vampires.

Trouble seems to follow Claire and her friends like a shadow and tonight is no exception to the rule. They must find the most difficult documents for a vampire to acquire; people passes that will allow "bad ass" Morley and his friends to leave Morganville. But it's proving incredibly problematic, and the odds are seemingly stacked.

Not my favourite in the series but Caine is a brilliant author

This is probably my favourite series ever and I’ve been saying this for about 10 years (P.S. can you ever be too old to still like vampires?). Claire’s character development and her friends iconic personality’s make this series addictive. However saying that, this is probably my least favourite book of the series. It took a while to get going …and maybe I just miss Morganville too much? The comfort of Coffee Grounds and absence of Myrnin and Amelie was definitely felt. This book did a turnaround and came to a dramatic, entertaining finish as they all do. Rachel Caine’s writing style just speaks to my soul. Great series.

A book full of surprises

I really enjoyed this book. A little too much teenage lovey dovey stuff, but not enough to spoil the story, beautifully performed by Katherine Fenton. The story cracked on at a fair old pace, filled with events I didn't see coming. Claire and her friends continue their strange lives, this time away from Morganville. The world outside Morganville is more dangerous than Morganville, but also peopled with a cast of new and interesting folk. This may be my favourite book in the series...
