Summary
An inspiring guide that teaches us how adversity can be an opportunity to make us into stronger, better people.
Discover how to rebuild your life after it is broken, repair the cracks, heal emotional wounds, and embrace imperfection.
Written by a psychologist, Tomas Navarro, this book explores the Japanese notion of Kintsugi, the ancient Japanese art of mending broken ceramics with gold, leaving visible the repair as a symbol of fragility, strength and beauty. Using this method as a metaphor, we will learn how to rebuild our lives after they have been broken, build resilience and heal emotional wounds. Tomas will help us to understand the role played by adversity in our lives, how we can react in the face of it and the simple steps we can take to confront and overcome life's troubles.
Kintsugi proves that happiness can be found again, often against all the odds, and that a traumatic or painful experience does not have to be the undoing of you.

Outstanding!!! Life changing!!!
I usually don't write reviews but it's the least I could do considering what this book has done for me. I recently came to know of the Japanese tradition of Kintsugi. I found it very interesting the way flaws were embraced and I just googled it to read up more about it, I didn't realise I was about to stumble across a book that would completely change my life. I've gone through serious traumas in my life and I've never really dealt with them properly, which unfortunately means they have manifested in damaging unhealthy ways. Ruining my relationships, performance at work, quality of life and outlook on life. Deep down I've know that I needed to talk to an expert on how I can change this but I've been hurt by people I've trusted so I didn't want to go through the hassle of opening up to try to start finding the ideal person that could advise me on my particular circumstances. Tomas Navarro is that guy! I've laughed with this book, I've cried with this book. I love the way it is read, it's brilliant! The narrator has a great tone, not too serious but not too comical. I loved the accent changes when appropriate it really helped me visualise the stories. It feels like he actually cares. This is not a book you can listen to non-stop as work needs to be done in between certain chapters, those exercises I have found very helpful. I'm not finished the book yet but I'm so impressed and couldn't wait to review. This is probably one the most important books I've ever read as it's taught me so much useful information I can apply to my life. I'm already noticing the different on my outlook on life and how I'm handling the adversity I'm currently facing. Thank you Tomas Navarro :)

Another self help book
Not a bad book at all, however, there's very little to do with Kintsugi in this book, aside from the begining of each chapter, the rest is just self help that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Somewhat misleading but it's a solid self help book, I've just listened to too many. The narration is really good though.

Thought header was optional. Why is one required?
A majority of this book has nothing to do with the concept of kintsugi. There was a lot of talk about depression which isn't immediately relatable to readers.
