About this listen

While the investigations go on in Dallas and Baton Rouge after the disappearance of a senator's daughter, FBI agents CJ Johnston and Paige Riley are assigned to the sleepy backwoods of East Texas for a dead-end assignment to infiltrate an all-girls school.

Random disappearances dating back 50 years and more raise red flags that point to the tiny, isolated community of Hoganville. But CJ and Paige fear there will be little distraction from the memories of the one-night stand they shared six months ago.

Nevertheless, they integrate themselves into the lives of the teachers and staff, but soon the odd behavior of the townspeople has them convinced something sinister lurks there. Something, perhaps, that even the residents of Hoganville don't know about.

More please!

Have read the majority of Geri's books and this particular series is honestly my favourite. She's always done cop stories well but turns out she can do Eldritch horror even better. Definitely worth your time and money. Only criticism i have, as with most of Geri's books is that it's too short!! Could easily have listened to another 10 hours

Excellent

I read the print edition of this in one sitting a few years ago. It was so bizarre and yet consuming, well written and with her usual amount of humour, sex and drama. Gerri Hill is really very good at the combination . Reviewing the story by having Abby Craden read it to me was a real treat, and I eagerly await more of the same from these two.

A very different story

Good characters and interesting story line. Abby read it beautifully. Not just the average fbi procedural. Wanted more at end of story. Always a good thing.

Simply amazing

Really out there story worked really really well. Gerri Hill seems to be able to turn her hand to all genres with total confidence. Loved main characters particularly CJ, but I suspect that this was mostly to do with the talented Abby Craden. The book has set itself up for a blistering sequel, I can’t wait.

Wow, I loved this storyline

Keepers of the Cave by Gerri Hill
Wow, I loved this story.
5/5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is the first book I’ve read by Gerri Hill, and I must say she’s a fantastic author.
CJ and Paige are FBI agents on an undercover assignment. Sent to investigate disappearances going back decades. CJ and Paige must pose as a couple to fit into the community. We learn about the characters and their past, giving us a glimpse into what makes them distinctive. I found them both likeable characters. Rather than just jumping straight into a relationship, we watch the sexual tension grow while they work covertly together.

I loved the pace of this chilling story, revealing just enough information to keep the suspense flowing through to the very end. The book’s cult vibes and supernatural direction are spine-chilling.

It was certainly a page-turner. The chapters are short but kept succinct. I'm already looking forward to reading the second book in the series. 📚
