Summary
Someone should have warned me about falling in love with my best friend.
Carolina
Little did I know when Rex came to my locker attempting to bribe me that he’d turn into my everything. We’d become best friends. I’d steal his heart. He’d steal mine. Nothing has changed in the years of our friendship. Not our connection, not our feelings, or that we still hold each other’s hearts. But his heart isn’t the only thing I’ve kept. The secret I’m hiding could shatter the only man I’ve ever loved.
Rex
I’ve loved Carolina since the day she called my bluff. Our friendship always came first. She believed in me when no one else did. I tucked away my feelings because I couldn’t survive a life without her. We crossed the line once, and I swore it’d never happen again. As time passes, the harder it becomes to live up to that promise. Until finally, there’s no holding back.

Slow burn, friends to lovers romance!
I love Charity Ferrell’s writing and Just Friends is no different. This slow burn, friends to lovers romance was so cute. I really liked the banter between Rex and Caroline. I liked the plot twist, but it left me wanting more.
Aaron Shedlock and Samantha Cook’s performance was amazing in this audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audiobook.

What a beautiful story
I really enjoyed this book. With a good strong storyline and absolutely brilliant characters it’s really enjoyable. There’s no other love like friendship that turns into a relationship. A fantastic performance.

Great listening
Wow.
Rex and Carolina's story was fantastic.
This story has me feeling all warm and fuzzy on the inside—even after all the drama, lies and crazy angst.
Because it was also sweet, funny, slightly nuts and also sexy.
I LOVED IT.
Aaron and Samantha did a great job with narration.

Best Friends-to-lovers goodness!
Upon meeting in HS, Carolina – the overachieving, nerdy preacher’s daughter, and Rex – the laid-back popular jock, form a very close friendship that lasts throughout HS, college, all the way into adulthood.
Although they clearly share such an intense connection and love for each other, as they are internally scared to ruin their friendship, they keep things platonic throughout the years. However, this doesn’t stop them from always being there for each other. Slowly, but surely, they let their guards down and allow each other in romantically.
I enjoyed this best friends-to-lovers story. Carolina and Rex were perfect for each other. I loved how their friendship was shown and developed from their first meeting, all the way to when they FINALLY got together romantically. The writing of the book was also great, as was the pacing and the banter. An overall fun read.
Narrated by Aaron Shedlock and Samantha Cook. They both did an excellent job with the narration. Both narrators aided in bringing the characters to life. This was truly a pleasure to listen to!

Enjoyed
Charity evokes so many feelings in this novel and touches on so many diverse circumstances that many young adults face. Physical and mental abuse, estrangement, social isolation, divorce are just a few of the situations in which the major protagonists find themselves.
This was a quick and easy read that, despite some of the book's hard hitting issues, didn't leave you overthinking when the final page was turned (or swiped for all you digital readers).
As painful as it is to watch the two of them avoid their facts and feelings for each other, it makes for a terrific read. It's a terrific book, with some more abrupt story shocks than long burn scenarios in other areas.
They were inseparable as friends, with a strong bond that kept them both in line with witty banter; she may have been the pastor's daughter, but she knew how to keep Rex in line.
When they step over that queue... It quickly becomes a popular read. It was just the right amount of spice for the characters and the story; it never sought to be more or less than it needed to be.
Narration by Aaron Shedlock and Samantha Cook was fantastic.
