Absolutely delightful

This is such a fabulous story, full of adventure and life! It’s beautifully narrated. One of the loveliest books I’ve listened to on Audible

superb narration. unforgettable adventure

originally found this title for my 7 year old who loves audiobooks the similarities to the story of the Secret Garden with an orphan girl finding a new world and making friends with boys maybe becoming interested in them etc however it was wonderful to have it set in the Amazon and I feel was very authentic for when it was set however it wasn't in an old-fashioned style at all I'm very interested in hearing other books by the author. additionally the narrator who I've not heard before it was absolutely superb she could do all different accents male-female boys girls etc I listened at 1.0 speed which is unusual for me. I'd like to hear more books by the narrator. although I find it odd that many books only have one narrator I enjoy probably more listening to audiobooks with different narrators playing the different characters

An Amazon adventure

I really liked the story and the narration was good, with all the different voices.

never quite whatvyouvexpect

not quite the story I expected to hear but interesting enough to finish. the ending felt about as if it was rushed to meet a publishing deadline which is unfortunately often the case. frustrating at times as there seems to be big gaps in the information perhaps they were cut by the editor at the publishers.
worth a listen but if buying try and get it on a reduced price.

upbeat children's tale that will make adults smile

Looking for a fun children's adventure story that isn't filled with gloom, hardship and adult levels of tragedy? then this is the book for you. Highly entertaining with great characterizations and unexpected plot twists. Refreshing also to see the old fashioned notions of British imperialism and class system mocked in a subversive and yet thoroughly good humoured way. There are plenty of laughs for adults here too.

Strange and sad, but a good story

The story shies away from almost all the expectations it sets up, but in the end it is a good listen.
