About this listen
Notorious Mafia enforcer and right hand of the Cosa Nostra, Maximo DiMarco has always looked out for me. He’s my protector. My brothers’ best friend. My crush—with the body of a god and the mind of a devil.
And I am just a spoiled Mafia princess. At least that’s who most people think I am. They don’t look at me long enough to see the real me. But he sees....
He is dark and dangerous and lethal, but he’s the only man who makes me feel like I’m alive. It’s a pity he’s too loyal to my brothers to ever act on the sparks that constantly fly between us....
Or is he?
Because when he finally loses control, it’s even more than I ever dreamed it could be. And even though he tells me that the two of us aren’t an option, I see the look in his eyes every time we’re together. He’s only ever a breath away from losing that control again.
But Max is a man with a dark past and secrets that he can’t escape. When that past catches up with us, it threatens what might be our only shot at happiness. Because I would give up everything I’ve ever known for a life with him. And when my brothers find out about us, I just might have to.

liked it a lot
A great fun read. Max & Joey are perfect together. I like how Joey is a mafia princess but isn't stupid or bratty and Max once he made up his mind nothing was gonna stop him getting his woman. it was good to see the other siblings too. such a treat

My favourite book from the series.
I could not wait to get my hands on the audiobook of Joey.
Joey is book two in the Chicago Ruthless series and my personal favourite.
Joe Arden is incredible as always, but I'd never listened to a Brooke Daniels audio performance before, and she absolutely smashed it.
I would love to listen to more of her work.
Outstanding performances, outstanding story.
I could not get enough of this audiobook.

Sizzling mafie romance
I didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. I don't know whether my disapointment was because all the hype on Instagram had built up my expectations, or because Dante, the first book of the series, was insane (in a good way), and set the bar too high. It didn't have all the tension and suspense of the first book. I predicted a lot of the plot twists. And the last exciting event in the story was resolved over an hour before the end of the book. And i was thinking "maybe there's another secret waiting to jump out of the bushes, but it never came."
I've listened to this twice. The first time, i didn't appreciate the love story between Joey and Max because there wasn't much build up to it like there was with Kat and Dante in the first book. They've known each other for over a decade, so their emotional connection has been building since before the book started. What we see clearly is the portrayal of their physical connection, which was so hot. On my second listen I could really appreciate how deep their connection is.
There were a few angtsy moments that could have been drawn out more, to build anticipation and help us connect more with the characters. Any conflict between the characters got resolved pretty quickly. The scene where her brothers found about about them was really good, though.
The narrators, Joe Arden and Brooke daniels put in a really good performance, though, especially the spicy bits. Those scences were hot and there were quite a few of them. I loved that this was duet style narration. The only issue i had with the performance is sometimes it was difficult to distinguish between Max and Dante's voices, and ocassionally Lorenzo. The audio definitely elevated the story for me. The narrators did a great job capturing the essence of the main characters and make it an enjoyable listening experience.
I'm excited to read the next book and get to know Lorenzo (the main character of the next book). He's the strong silent type who seems to have hidden depths.

Fantastic audio of a brilliant mafia romance
Having loved the book I was keen to hear the audiobook and this did not disappoint. The two actors and the dual pov works so well and they have caught the growliness of Max and the bratiness of Joey perfectly. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing this and would highly recommend this spicy, drama filled mafia romance.

Joe Arden 🥵🥵🥵🥵
Honestly this is my favourite audio book I have ever listened to
It’s infinity starts from me and I will never stop recommending this audio to anyone who will listen.
I loved max Di Marco character in the book but Joe Arden with his narration just takes the character to a whole other level. The way he thinks and talks about Joey the fmc let alone the things he says directly to her holy hell 🥵🥵🥵🥵. and those filthy dirty giggles “never forget who controls your body baby girl. Your ass, Your Pussy , your mouth , your pleasure ,your pain . All of it belongs to me “
ok moving on from my Max obsession this books is mafia
brothers best friend
virgin fmc
pierced mmc
dirty talk
bad ass fmc
Joey has been in love with Max for years what she doesn't realise is that it is not just one way. Max is seriously struggling to control himself around Joey. The secret relationship only takes up about 1/3 of the book before the plot moves on and we are following the Moretti family trying to uncover hidden secret and reveal who is the real threat to their family.

A great Duet audible
I love listening to Joe Arden and this duet with Brooke is an effortless and easy listen.
Joey is the first audible ive listened to by Sadie and I have to say ive loved it!
There are some themes that could be triggering so please observe trigger warnings.
Joey is a spoiled mafia princess who falls for her brothers closest friend. Max is twice her age and not only works for the family but seems them as his family too.
This was my first introduction to these characters and I am sure i will be listening or reading the others in this series
