Summary
Have you ever considered how Calvinists and other conservative Christians view motivational speaking? How about how motivational speakers view Calvinism and others forms of conservative Christianity? It's hard to find these topics discussed anywhere. This audiobook explores the multitude of ways Calvinists (and other conservative Christians) differ from motivational speakers and to a lesser extent, how these groups are alike. If you would like to understand one of the biggest, yet almost always neglected, philosophical and theological disputes of our day, listen to this book.

Fascinating
To quote Jim Rohn, 'be fascinated, not frustrated'. This topic has fascinated me for years, as I am a believer, and also rating Jim Rohn as one of my favourite speakers. I never saw a conflict in that, so this book triggered my curiosity.
It is clearly written, and if you know both sides of the story, very recognisable.
My struggle with the book is the contrast set between the two parties. Especially the quoted ministers have said things so strongly, I would not always agree with. The book indeed describes the two opposites, and maybe Jesus would have wandered between the two parties, touching them both for their lack of understanding. Who knows.
Very interesting book, and comes recommended if you want to learn more about the contrast between motivational speakers and preachers.

Misunderstood idea of Motivational speakers
What did you like best about Jim Rohn and Other Motivators Vs. John Piper and Other Calvinists? What did you like least?
It was interesting to listen that book while I am very interesting in Motivational speakers and Christianity. I am not agree with everything but either way I found it worth to read that book.
I found that author in many places do not understand teaching of motivational speakers. For example “What is success”, or “what speakers mean when they glorify America” . And I found that author is not a Christian himself.
I agree that Calvinism or most Cristian churches teaching differs very much from motivational speeches. But also I found that most Cristian churches are quite far away from bible teaching and real life when we talking about success or personal development.
Meanwhile I found that Jim Rohn teaches what bible says (not Christian churches) and I found that Jim Rohn teaching very to the point.
My conclusion: Motivational speakers - Jim Rohn, Earl Nightingale, Zig Ziglar are more accurate to the bible than Christian churches when we talk about life, people, personal development and success.
