Summary
Jen is a normal, single woman living in a big city. By day, she's a receptionist and by night, she goes on dates. Lots of dates. Because Jen knows if she is going to find true love, it's a numbers game.
All of Jen's dates end with the same crushing sense of disappointment and she finds herself silently uttering those five familiar words: 'It's not me, it's you.'
But now it seems Jen is more than just unlucky in love. The police have knocked on her door with some questions for her.
The last five people she went on dates with have been murdered. And Jen is their prime suspect.
As she fights desperately to prove her innocence, she must ask herself, who would have a motive to kill those five people? And if the only thing connecting them is her, will she be next?
An absolutely gripping and addictive psychological thriller with a killer twist you won't see coming. Fans of K.L Slater, Sue Watson and Netflix's You will be totally hooked from the first page until the final, breath-taking conclusion.

Couldn’t finish this…..
I think it might be enjoyable for someone much much younger than me. I can’t relate at all to the lead character and found her ridiculous……

Narration great - the clues were too obvious
Promising storyline but the clues were obvious meaning the killer was obvious, the only reason the motive wasn’t predicable was because it was totally far fetched. The narrator was great though in acting out each character, so it was still an engaging listen. Glad I bought it on sale rather than using a full credit though

Most unexpected
Nice story. Able to capture the silly decisions young people make very aptly. I was happy not to have guessed where the story was heading from chapter one. She actually took her time to put good twists in the story.
The narrator was really good. Found myself smiling at the oh so normal expressions of “obviously “ or “ of course” What a gem.

Really enjoyable - kept me guessing
Loved this - kept me guessing throughout as there were several possible suspects. The voice actor was likeable and the story flowed. I enjoyed that the main character was relatable (as frustrating as some of her decisions were). Yes, she seems wilfully ignorant of several of her acquaintances’ flaws, but I think this is actually (sadly) quite true to life of a young 20-something in lust. A deeper backstory is present throughout too, giving the whole thing a rounded feel. Enjoyed!

Mrs. McCormack loved this!
A fantastic choice of narrator for this great story gives it a truly authentic 'Northern' feel. I enjoyed all of the references to creativity, art and gallery visits. I'm looking forward to reading more from Charlotte Bigland.

A Good Listen
This was a good story - the red herrings were plentiful. A frustratingly annoying character. I read/listen to a lot of who-dun-nits and can usually call it - in this case I called it then kept second guessing throughout. A good yarn, well done.

Enjoyable listen
Good story, kept me guessing - great narration. Held my interest throughout. Likeable protagonist, characters portrayed well by narrator. Perhaps it wrapped everything up a little too neatly at the end but overall that is a minor point.
