Critic reviews

“Without Simon Waterson’s help and guidance, I literally wouldn’t have made it through 15 years of playing James Bond.... It’s been an honour working with him.” (Daniel Craig)

“Working with Simon is the nearest you get to actually being a superhero, in the sense you are at your absolute peak of physical health. That makes you feel incredibly robust in these challenging times.” (Benedict Cumberbatch)

very instructional

Good clear and well described workout plans and a lot of general fitness and nutrition advice.

Great info, terrible narration

The information and points in the book are basic but you can take something from it. Has good workout routines etc.

However, the narration is so bad and find it distracting. It’s like there’s punctuation in the wrong place when it’s being read. He’ll explain thiiiiiiings like nutrition, fitness, and, why, these, things matter. Ifyouwanttogethealthy and be the best……… version…… oooooof yourself?

Imagine everything being read like that. Words are strung out on vowels and end of sentences sound like a question? If you can get past this then definitely worth a listen as again the information is good.

Loved it!

If anything, having a pdf with a summary of the workouts would be appreciated

An excellent book worth the weight of several so called fitness books.

It took me a little while to get used to the delivery. But then as you progress through the book it quickly feels like Simon is taking you through his methods and experience in person.

Simon is the real deal, and from what I have gathered from the various interviews I’ve seen with him, a genuinely good guy.

He also gives you examples of what his clients actual work outs were. And what’s more he encourages you to try different ones to find what works for you. What’s more he encourages you to start where you are now, at your pace, but encourages you to push yourself too.

Excellent

Really good book. The only thing missing is a short PDF with the exercises in it

Difficult to listen to and no PDF

I'm sure the information is excellent given his pedigree, but the unusual cadence of the narration makes it very difficult to listen to. Also, with the lack of an accompanying PDF to depict the movements and list the workouts, it relies on the listener to understand and memorise the movements as verbally descried and write down the sequence of exercises themselves which is unusual for books of this type in my experience.

Oh dear

I was looking for real advice on fitness training , particularly being past 50 , however all I got was the biggest vain glorious name drop I’ve ever read, minimal content , maximum self exposure
Can’t recommend it at all I’m afraid

Please no name checks

Sorry Simon I was recommended this tittle by a friend who use your services. I would love to hear the work without all the consistent name checking. I would love to hear about the excellent work that you do but whilst working with Daniel Craig/Chris Evans gets very tiring.
Had to skip so much in the end because of this

Audible version is overpriced, deficient & disappointing

The Audible versions of books should not be deficient in terms of content. Considering the cost of the Audible version (much more than any of the other versions), I anticipated that the reference photographs which are included in the hard copy, would be available in a pdf, along with any info, lists, exercise and eating guides. Given how much this book is clearly trading on Hollywood clients for its successful readership, this is disappointing.
Please include them in an updated version.
