Summary
Karma. You reap what you sow, and KANE MARTIN isn't looking for forgiveness.
But the arrival of ABE TYLER in Painted Bay has Kane dreaming of the impossible. The sexy, silver fox choreographer is determined to pull Kane out from the shadows, but Abe's career isn't about to shift to Painted Bay, and Kane's life is in neat little boxes for a reason.
A past he isn't proud of.
A family he's walked away from.
A job he doesn't deserve.
A secret he's ashamed of.
But life's dance can make for unexpected partners, and learning to trust and keep up with the footwork is the name of the game.
Two steps forward, one step back.
It takes two to tango.

Healing trough friendship and love
Audiobook
Gary Furlong has done another great job innarrating book three in the 'Painted Bay' series. I absolutely enjoy the right timbre/ voice changes to give that bit extra to the emotions. 🎧 5*
Book review
I just loved how Abe came into Painted Bay and finds friendship with Kane, the man who is still dealing with the fallout from his bad decision while he was a teen and is now almost an outcast on his return to town.
I like how Kane slowly lets himself enjoy Abe his company little by little, especially when dancing or even when hanging out with him. And grows to trust that he has a future and can change his life.
And I adore Abe who finally tells Judah how he sees things and maybe Judah needs to reflect.
Abe and Kane do find a create a life that works for them and find their hfn/hea.

Twice in a row
I was underwhelmed, the first time I listened, because I could not tell the voices apart and had no sense of the characters. Something made me restart the recording and it was great. So many details I did not pick up the first time! I was fascinated by Kane. Abe was less developed. The voices were slightly different. Abe had an amused tone.
I love this novel!

Another great narration from Gary...

Another excellent narration from Gary Furlong. If he can put so much life into his Kiwi accent, why does his British and American stuff usually sound so monotonous and lifeless to me? Can't answer that, but his work for Jay is a no-brainer auto purchase for me.

Did Kane redeem himself? You betcha...and how!!
First entry onto my Goodreads 2022 Best Reads shelf for this little beauty, Kane and Abe were so wonderfully in tune with one another, plenty of feels and passion [both of the sexy kind and the dancing kind] and that ending? Just about broke my heart...again. Judah finally got down off his high-horse with help from Morgan and Leroy [who just gets better and better 🤯...wow!!], and actually listened to what Kane had to say. Surely Jam deserves a story too? Who knows, but I ADORE this series. 5 stars all the way.

Rather sad story
Fathers who would use his fists against his young should be in prison. The fear they instill on their young can last their whole life and unless they find someone to love they may never get out of it, thankfully this man does.

A beautiful and hopeful story x
OMG! This lady kills me every time! So much emotion in this one. Kane knocked me for six, and beyond. As the story unfolds, it's full of humour, drama, relationship issues and very romantic scenes. It is beautifully written and well edited, and the characters are all so vibrant. I loved seeing Leroy and Fox again. Fox is amazing and handles grumpy Leroy, (not really), magnificently.
There is denial, self chastising, and also realisation that all decisions are not the best for all. However, love conquers all, and a wonderful story finishes just the way you want it to. It is easy to read, emotional, but not dark. It has two adorable feline characters, which show where Kane's heart really lies. Abe is like a fairy godfather, sent to save Kane from himself. What a wonderful love story! In my opinion, it most definitely is not a stand alone, must be read/listened to as part of a series , not one to be missed. Must add that this is the best cover ever! Gary Furlong is fast becoming one of my favourite narrators. He really is amazing and totally brings the characters and their stories to life.
