About this listen
Learn hoodoo for justice, peace, and protection
The world is not always a nice place. Sometimes, it can be downright treacherous. That means sometimes you'll have to protect yourself, and other times you'll have to make your own justice.
Hoodoo is old North American folk magic, born from the African spiritual traditions brought to the New World by slaves. Over the centuries it incorporated Native American and European influences, using what worked and discarding what did not. What is left is an adaptable, powerful magical system that works.
In this book you’ll learn 50 authentic Hoodoo workings focused on justice, peace, and protection, including:
- Domination Oil - using calamus root
- Curse Your Enemies - using nails
- Hot Foot Powder - using hot peppers and sulfur
- The Witch's Hand - using crow feathers
- Self-Protection - with salt and silver
- Block Black Magic - with juniper berries
- Protection and Power Hand - with High John root
Each spell will focus on one key ingredient, explaining why that ingredient is used, so you can learn to make your own magic. Each comes with simple step-by-step instructions that anyone can follow.

Brilliant!
I have both previous books by this writer, and was excited to listen to her third.
The chapters are:
1. Hoodoo basics (I enjoyed the way this was put forward, even though I am not a total stranger to this);
2. Hoodoo for war.
3. Hoodoo for peace (protection).
4. Spells for justice and war.
5. Spells for peace and protection.
6. Conclusion.
I think the most important thing I will take away from this is the importance of cleansing baths for any kind of workings in that they get rid of everything you have accumulated - not just on yourself and in your mind, but in your aura. So going forwards I will be looking to bring this into my life before all my workings, Reiki included.
I have said in my previous review of one of Angelie Belard's earlier books that I appreciated that she doesn't treat the subject of hoodoo as being off limits for anyone - it doesn't matter your background, heritage, whatever - it is not a religion: it is a way of life, open to everyone.
Thank you Angelie.

Great introduction to hoodoo , very easy listen.
I was very curious about hoodoo so was happy to be given chance to review this book. I found it a great introduction to the topic , really easy to understand and have gone on to purchase the authors first 2 books . I will also purchase this as a book so i can refer back to spells included. It was a easy listen and I finished in 3 days.

Another good work by the author
The narration is very good and sound quality is find. But the sections are not named/titled & two are too long (75 minutes) which makes it difficult to find a particular section in that chapter.
The author doesn't go into too much details, but the basic concepts are explained well and clearly. It offers a good overview of the subject with high emphasis on ethics and moral values.

It's not what you think
You hear hoodoo for love and war, and first thing that probably crosses your mind is "come back to me" and hexes. But it's not. It's how to survive both. There's a very good introduction for beginners. The book makes for a very nice reminder for the experienced.
