Summary

Belva Plain captured readers' hearts with her first novel, Evergreen, which Delacorte published more than 30 years ago. It topped the New York Times best-seller list for 41 weeks and aired as an NBC-TV miniseries. In total, more than 20 of her books have been New York Times best sellers.

Before becoming a novelist, Belva Plain wrote short stories for many major magazines, but taking care of a husband and three children did not give her the time to concentrate on the novel she had always wanted to write. When she looked back and said she didn't have the time, she felt as though she had been making excuses. In retrospect, she said, "I didn't make the time." But, she reminded us, during the era that she was raising her family, women were supposed to concentrate only on their children. Today 30 million copies of her books are in print.

A Barnard College graduate who majored in history, Belva Plain enjoyed a wonderful marriage of more than 40 years to Irving Plain, an ophthalmologist. Widowed for more than 25 years, Ms. Plain continued to reside in New Jersey, where she and her husband had raised their family and which was still home to her nearby children and grandchildren until her death in October 2010.

Interesting, but not the book.

This is an audio workshop from John Bradshaw, not simply an audio version of the book. It includes some narrative from him, extracts from his group workshops and "visualisation" to listen to as part of the process. It contains a lot less content than the book, but in a easily accessible format.

This is supposed to be homecoming by John Bradshaw

Audible seems to have changed this in my library from John bradshaws homecoming to another title also called homecoming. It’s frustrating as now it downloads the wrong book. Previously it started to appear as mislabelled but would download the correct title. Sort it out audible .

have gone through this book twice now and intend to keep using the exercises and meditations. really enjoyed the structure too of narration, then recordings of his talks, and then the switch into guided visualisations and meditations.

Powerful healing work. Real gem!

This is not a typical audiobook — it consists of live performances and recorded pieces where John Bradshaw speaks directly to you.

He talks about three developmental stages and what needs should have been met at each of them.

For each stage there is a guided meditation and a task. This work is very powerful, at least for me. Some cases are so true, as if he was talking about my life. Even if I don’t remember such situations, I can “feel” them. I feel such enormous sadness.

I have listened through the whole book and have done some of the exercises and will surely do all of them. This is a wonderful book! Three hours that will change your life.

I will recommend this podcast to everyone. So relevant and important for my development. John is the best narrative and so funny. I wish it was longer.
