Summary

Nova Kingsley had a severe case of writer's block. When her friend suggested a trip to the Midwest, the Las Vegas native thought it would be exactly the change of pace she needed. Just a couple of weeks of peaceful, uninterrupted work would get her out of the rut she had found herself in. But that was before she met Colt.

Colt McCormick had retreated to the woods of rural Missouri to start a new life with his dog, Bo. His cabin retreat is all he has, but he does his best to make it his. When he gets a visitor from Las Vegas, he thinks his lucks about to turn around.

The chemistry is palpable, but one woman is determined to have Colt to herself. Will she be able to succeed in driving Colt and Nova apart, or will they do anything for love?

Insta-Love

Kelli Walker wrote great characters in Nova and Colt in His Big Log Cabin. I found the imagery in this story to be well done. Having visited Lake of the Ozark's, I could envision so much. Daniel James Lewis is a new narrator to me. His voice is smooth and wonderful. He doesn't have as much character distinction as I prefer, and at times I had to really concentrate to hear who was speaking. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

A Man and his Dog

Colt lives in a log cabin in Missouri and rents out parts of his wilderness retreat. When Nova comes to stay with him for a couple of weeks from Las Vegas, life for them both is about to turn around! Kelli Walker has written this story with a little of everything. We have opposites attract, as Colt and Nova come from completely different backgrounds. There is a stalkerish vibe creating some suspense and action as well as passion and self realization. I really enjoyed the story and getting to know Colt and Nova, and Colt's dog Bo! He is a sweetie! With beautiful visual writing, Walker takes us through the cabin and surrounding area and makes the story come alive.

Daniel James Lewis does a good job narrating. I found him to be animated and have a lot of expression as he performed. The dual point of view let us know who was speaking, though at times, I found his female voice not as easy to distinguish. His pacing is perfect and he made the story a lot of fun with his style.
