Summary
Spring has been raised as a warrior, not knowing she's been stolen as a baby by Cromwell Gunn. When her clan decides to launch a plan to seize their enemy's castle, she has no choice to go along with it. Shaw Gordon is laird and chieftain and also a widower with three children. He is looking for a wife. But he never expects the offer of his worst enemy's daughter in the form of an alliance. He doesn't trust them, but when he sees the girl with his late father's bow and arrows in her hand, he will do anything to get it back - even marry the enemy. Can Spring find the strength to continue, and draw on the strength of her new husband as well when she discovers her entire life is based on a horrific lie?

Spring
This well-constructed complicated story follows Spring and those around her as she learns who she is, what she wants, and where she belongs. It is a tale of deceit and betrayal, of secrets and lies, and of discovery and love. The characters in this story are well developed, some new, and some already familiar. Spring and Shaw are great together. Gunn and his crew are strong, but that strength is evil, not honorable. The secondary characters flesh out the story. The children are instrumental in the changes we see in Spring as the story unfolds. Nairnie’s part in the story is essential and adds a little humor. There are twists, turns, and surprises all through the story, but the biggest and best is at the end. A superb job of narration by Brian J. Gill. Another great story from Elizabeth Rose.

Highland Spring
This is the first book of The Season’s of Fortitude book series. It was very good. The narration was excellent and he told the story with a sense of truth, as if it was real. Baby Spring was kidnapped with two other boy babies to make up the clan of an opposing clan. The leader of this clan stole the babies as his wife could not produce a child. The wife died when Spring was a small child so she had no remembrance of a Mother. The so say Father brought her up as a lad and they taught her to be a warrior. It was a perfect beginning of a series and her husband’s children learned to love her very quickly. I did not want to put it down. Thank You Miss Rose for writing this book. I am now looking forward to reading the next in the Season’s of Fortitude.

another brilliant story
Loved every second of this first story of the series Seasons of Fortitude. This series is a follow up of the series Legendary of the Bastards and also has characters of the series of Madmen McKeefe. Brian Gill is a very good narrator and he has a voice for every character. This book is definitely worth a credit.
The next book I will be listening to is Coira's story from the series Second in Command as these serieses all coincide with each other so I listen to them according to the year each book starts at.
