Completely immersive wonderfully written.

As one of the last books in the Highland series this book is as strong and powerfully written as the first. The detail that comes from the historical investigation of the true story of Lady Macbeth interwoven with the story telling that carries you through a powerful depiction. The old religion is respectfully mentioned and the harrowing details of beliefs and realities of lie and death at the time work Into a powerful tapestry of a story.
