Summary

Truth. Justice. Revenge. Behind these stands The Scotsman's Sword.

Gladiator meets Fight Club in the Scottish Highlands in a new romance from USA Today best-selling author Kathryn Le Veque.

When Lor Careston's quiet Highland village was attacked and burned, he felt helpless against the raiders who destroyed his home. Seeking revenge, but lacking the fighting skills he needs to execute his mission, he sets out to find the Ludus Caledonia - a mysterious fight guild that turns men into warriors.

Lor trains hard, proves himself in the ring, and earns a place with the very clan that decimated his home, having decided to set his plan for revenge in motion from inside the clan. But his plan didn't include Isabail Keith, a fiery lass who prefers broadswords to embroidery and isn't afraid to stand with the warriors of her clan. Lor thought the Keiths were his enemies, but when Isabail is threatened, he'll have to decide what he's willing to risk for the woman who has captured his heart and the clan that has become his home.

Highland Gladiator

This book is very good. It has a lovely tale of a gladiator who lived in a particular area of Scotland, who lived with his grandfather . It also tells of a girl who lived with her father and brothers, she was a strong girl and could fight like a man. Her brothers had taught her things over the years, and she was equipped with knives, which were strapped all over her. In case of attack or someone bothering her. But they lived in another hamlet good few miles from the gladiator. Anyway the gladiator had to go into the local village to get something for grandfather and met the beautiful girl who was selling birds eggs. She would not say where she lived but arranged to meet the gladiator the next day. The gladiator told his grandfather about the girl but grandfather was dead against him meeting the girl again so sent him on another errand. By the time he returned home his village had been burned to the ground and he thought grandfather had been killed. Unbeknownst to him his grandfather was taken and locked in a cellar as a prisoner of the clan who burned down his village. The story then carries on and the young couple fall in love. But her father is dead against any relationship. The narrator told the story excellently and voiced the different characters wonderfully. I love Kathryn Le Veque’s writing and storytelling. I loved this book, it made me feel the crisis these people were in, and I felt as if I could smell the fire’s burning. There are a lot of twist and turns, loving, fighting, kidnap, imprisonments, real bad things. All was resolved by the end. A very enjoyable book. Thank you Miss Le Veque.
